JDEnergy Unveils Insights on String PCS Technology for Spain's Energy Storage
On September 15, 2026, JDEnergy conducted a significant webinar focused on Spain's energy storage market. This event brought together the company's technical and sales teams along with their local partner, WDenergia, to share valuable insights related to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), real-world project applications, and the ongoing development of the local market.
Under the theme "Future-Ready Energy Storage: String PCS Architecture for Spain's Energy Transition," the webinar provided a comprehensive analysis of JDEnergy's string PCS architecture. This technology is pivotal in enabling energy storage solutions aimed at large-scale grid applications, as well as in the commercial and industrial (CI) sectors.
A key takeaway from the session was the impact of BESS architecture on project lifecycle performance. Unlike conventional centralized designs, JDEnergy’s string PCS architecture offers independent control at the battery cluster level. This innovation removes the need for parallel connections on the DC side, allowing each cluster to charge and discharge based on its specific operating conditions. Such an approach is beneficial in maximizing usable energy, improving fault isolation, enhancing system availability, and providing operational flexibility.
Throughout the system's lifecycle, this granular battery management method also helps mitigate the effects of battery degradation variability, ensuring higher energy utilization and a more consistent system performance over time.
Transitioning from design to application, JDEnergy introduced the
eBlock-418A, a modular energy storage solution tailored for large-scale commercial and industrial applications with grid connectivity. Incorporating the string PCS architecture, this solution features an AC-side design that allows for flexible system scalability to meet diverse project requirements. Additionally, its networking capability enables the system to establish and regulate voltage and frequency within its operational range. The eBlock-418A has already been delivered to various international markets, including Hungary, Germany, Italy, and Japan, showcasing its proven performance under a variety of grid conditions and application scenarios.
Building on this international project experience, JDEnergy is expanding its footprint in Spain through its collaboration with WDenergia. The partnership is set to focus on battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects targeting a total of 200 MWh. This collaboration combines JDEnergy’s technology and project experience with WDenergia’s local development and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capabilities.
As Spain accelerates the deployment of renewable energy, the demand for flexibility within the grid also continues to grow.
