For context, in 2019, a substantial 72 vehicle models were priced under $30,000, but by 2024, this number dwindled to just 22. The market has been subjected to higher price points and premium feature packages, which are contributing to consumer discontent, especially for entry-level buyers.

The increasing costs in the automotive market have resulted in substantial economic strain on consumers. For instance, consider the financial leap for a buyer moving from a Ford Focus SE, previously priced at $19,550 with a 4.5% interest rate, to a newer model currently set at $27,770 but subject to a 7.5% rate. The monthly payment would escalate from $367 to $555, marking a staggering 51% increase.
