Sekisui Home Tech Launches New BIM Data Service for Care Facilities

Introducing the BIM Data Service by Sekisui Home Tech for Care Facilities

On February 25, 2026, Sekisui Home Tech Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., officially launched a Building Information Modeling (BIM) data service specifically for its Care and Independence Support Equipment, referred to as "wells". This service is a crucial step towards enhancing construction productivity, especially in the context of Japan's aging population and the resulting labor shortages.

The Importance of BIM in the Construction Industry

In recent years, the construction and architectural fields have been under significant pressure due to diminishing workforce numbers. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan has been advocating for the adoption of BIM across all stages of design, review, construction, and maintenance. They aim to initiate the review of BIM data in the spring of 2029.

In an effort to contribute positively to this initiative, Sekisui Home Tech has been providing valuable design resources since March of last year, notably to architects through the "wells Architect CLUB" platform. The service began with the KGS-F series of care bathtubs and has now expanded significantly.

New Offerings for Architects

Responding to requests from designers, Sekisui Home Tech has now arranged to provide BIM data for the KGS series. This includes an impressive selection of 30 data types for various individual and linking bathtub configurations. Specifically, the new offerings comprise four sizes of individual bathtubs (1620, 1625, 2020, and 2025) alongside six sizes of linking bathtubs (2033, 2037, 2041, 2533, 2537, and 2541).

Project stakeholders can easily download these CAD and BIM files from the wells Architect CLUB website. The service is available to anyone involved in design processes, supporting ease in planning and implementing care facilities across Japan.

The Benefits of wells Bathing Solutions

Particularly noteworthy is how the "wells" bathing solutions stand out in terms of total cost benefits. The bathtubs are designed to be versatile, adapting to the user's physical needs over time, ensuring a safe and enduring bathing environment not only for participants but also for caregivers.

These well-crafted bathing solutions have already been integrated into more than 10,000 facilities, including special nursing homes, memory care units, paid elderly homes, and many other healthcare and disability support establishments. They are instrumental in balancing service quality improvements with financial sustainability.

Committed to Continuous Improvement

Sekisui Home Tech is committed to constant innovation, believing that alongside thoughtful architectural solutions, they can contribute to relevant changes in societal structures. From designing and manufacturing to after-sales support, they truly embody a holistic approach as experts in unit bathrooms.

Their historical outperformance includes produced innovations such as plastic bathtubs, unit bathrooms for single family homes, and pioneering accessibility in bathing concepts. Notably, the "wells" brand signifies their dedication to developing adaptable bathing solutions capable of accommodating various levels of independence among users.

In summary, Sekisui Home Tech’s launch of BIM data services for the "wells" brand is set to revolutionize care facilities, with a focus on both efficiency in design collaboration and enriching lives through innovative and adaptable products.
