Transforming Telecom Operations with AI
In a significant move aimed at revolutionizing the telecommunications industry, Circles, GreySkies, and HCLTech have announced their collaboration within the
TM Forum Catalyst Program. This innovative initiative is designed to foster partnerships between Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and technology leaders, facilitating the co-creation and demonstration of next-generation telecommunication solutions.
A Collaborative Effort
Joining forces with prominent telecom operators such as KDDI, Orange, and TELUS, the tripartite partnership intends to build an
AI-powered multi-agent framework. This framework is set to unify customer interactions, network operations, and business processes, transitioning them into an
intelligent, real-time operational ecosystem. The overarching goal of this alliance is to expedite end-to-end automation, bolster service assurance, and boost customer engagement, as well as create new monetization avenues through insights driven by AI.
Complementary Strengths
Each partner brings unique strengths to the table:
- - Circles contributes its advanced AI-native digital telecom platform, enhancing customer engagement capabilities.
- - GreySkies offers its expertise in AI-driven intelligent network operations and automation founded on data insights.
- - HCLTech provides its proficiency in AI, automation, and TM Forum Open APIs, all within an Open Digital Architecture (ODA) framework.
By integrating these strengths, the collaboration seeks to empower telecom service providers to continuously monitor customer feedback and network signals. This capability will enable them to predict potential issues and facilitate autonomous decision-making across various domains.
Advancing AI-Driven Operations
The introduction of advanced AI functionalities within standard architectures is key to supporting the evolution towards
self-optimizing networks. These networks will be more attuned to shifts in customer preferences and the complexities of operations. The proposed solution aims to enhance operational efficiency, speed up the transition from insight to action, and ultimately improve the lifetime value of each customer.
“As service providers endeavor to meet escalating customer expectations, AI will assume a pivotal role in creating tailored, proactive, and smooth experiences,” states Sanjay Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer at Circles. He emphasizes the importance of leveraging complementary capabilities to connect customer insights with network and business operations in real-time, paving the way for growth and differentiation.
Anticipating Customer Needs
Dr. Ibrahim Ghaleb, Chief Operating Officer at GreySkies, adds,
“Autonomous operations begin with a profound understanding of the network. By incorporating AI-driven visibility and assurance into this Catalyst, we support operators in predicting and mitigating issues before the customer even notices.” This collaboration between Circles, GreySkies, and HCLTech aims to show how intelligent network operations directly influence customer satisfaction and operational success, transforming real-time network signals into accelerated, self-managed decisions.
A Commitment to Co-Innovation
HCLTech’s Chief Growth Officer, Anil Ganjoo, articulates the significance of their participation in the TM Forum Catalyst Program, saying,
“It reflects our dedication to co-innovate within the global telecom ecosystem and accelerate the shift towards AI-driven autonomous operations.” By merging multi-agent AI capabilities with open, standards-compliant architectures, the partners aim to equip service providers to deliver more intelligent, flexible, and distinctive customer experiences at scale.
Looking Ahead
The outcomes of this Catalyst project will be presented at the
TM Forum’s DTW Ignite event in Copenhagen on June 23-25, providing a platform for industry leaders to delve into collaborative innovation and envision the future of telecommunications transformation.
