The legendary rock band, The All-American Rejects, has officially been inducted into the SoundExchange Hall of Fame. This prominent recognition celebrates their iconic track, 'Gives You Hell', which stands as one of the most streamed songs in SoundExchange's impressive two-decade history of managing performance royalties.
Released in 2008, 'Gives You Hell' quickly climbed the charts, reaching No. 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 and remaining in the top 10 for an impressive 14 weeks. The song continues to resonate with fans, achieving a remarkable nine times Platinum certification by the RIAA in 2024.
Michael Huppe, the President and CEO of SoundExchange, highlighted the cultural impact of the song, stating, "Without a doubt, 'Gives You Hell' is an unapologetic, instantly recognizable anthem that continues to resonate with listeners years after its release." He added that the band successfully captured the intense emotions surrounding relationships, creating a timeless connection with the audience.
Expressing gratitude, Tyson Ritter, the lead vocalist, stated, "We're incredibly grateful to SoundExchange for this honor. The All-American Rejects have been longtime members of SoundExchange, joining in 2003. The organization helps the band collect royalties from over 90 agreements with international counterparts, covering 91% of the global neighboring rights market.
Currently, the band is gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated new album, Sandbox, scheduled to drop in May 2026. This album marks their first full-length release since Kids in the Street in 2012. After a series of concerts across the U.S., the band is set to embark on a European tour in June, followed by more North American dates, including a performance at the Vans Warped Tour in Mexico City this September.
