3iQ Secures Preliminary Approval from IFC in Abu Dhabi

3iQ Corp., a global leader in providing digital asset investment solutions, is thrilled to announce that its UAE-based sister company, 3iQ Middle East Ltd, has obtained a preliminary approval (IPA) for a Category 4 license from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This follows their strategic partnership with Further Asset Management, a UAE-based digital asset manager, which will enable institutional investors to access digital assets through 3iQ's managed account platform, QMAP. This platform has successfully attracted $100 million in initial sovereign capital.

The receipt of this IPA is part of 3iQ's strategic vision to be regulated and present in all major global digital asset hubs. This initiative aims to make their award-winning investment management offerings accessible to qualified investors worldwide. The offerings include the world’s first Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs listed on prominent exchanges.

Rachel Pether, who leads 3iQ’s operations in the Middle East, has spearheaded the company's efforts in the region since she joined in 2023. With nearly a decade at Mubadala, a sovereign investor in Abu Dhabi, she has become a key figure in the area. Prior to her tenure at 3iQ, she held the position of Senior Advisor at SkyBridge Capital.

Pascal St-Jean, CEO of 3iQ and Coincheck Group, expressed his excitement about this development, stating, "3iQ has always believed that the UAE is a major hub for digital assets with a leading regulatory framework that protects investors. As pioneers in providing innovative digital asset investment solutions, we look forward to solidifying our presence in the region, starting with the Abu Dhabi Global Market."

Rachel Pether emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, "This is a significant milestone for 3iQ, made possible through constructive collaboration with the proactive regulatory authority of ADGM. Since our establishment in the UAE in 2023, 3iQ has been taking steps to become the region's leader, leveraging our proven experience in mobilizing sovereign and institutional capital for digital assets."

Arvind Ramamurthy, Director of Business Development at ADGM, congratulated 3iQ on obtaining the IPA, recognizing it as an important step in establishing a regulated presence within the ADGM. He remarked, "This significant achievement illustrates the growing interest of international businesses in ADGM's dynamic digital asset ecosystem, which is backed by a progressive regulatory framework and an expanding community of market participants on both global and regional fronts. We are pleased to support 3iQ through its licensing process and contribute to the development of the digital asset ecosystem in Abu Dhabi."

As 3iQ continues to expand its footprint in the Middle East, the company's commitment to innovation and regulatory compliance puts it in a prime position to facilitate the growth of digital asset investments not only in the UAE but across the globe. This landmark approval paves the way for enhanced accessibility and security for investors venturing into the burgeoning world of digital assets, reflecting the increasing integration of cryptocurrency and traditional finance.

With continued momentum and strategic collaborations, 3iQ is poised to redefine how investors engage with digital assets, fostering a more inclusive financial landscape that's responsive to the needs of a diverse global clientele.
