DXYZ Introduces Face Recognition Platform 'FreeiD' at Mitamachiterrace Office Complex

DXYZ and the Introduction of 'FreeiD' at Mitamachiterrace

DXYZ Corporation, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has announced the integration of its innovative face recognition ID platform, 'FreeiD,' into the newly constructed Mitamachiterrace office complex. This notable implementation marks the first time a face recognition ID system is included as a standard feature in a large-scale office building in Japan. The project is a collaboration with Chuo Nippon Land Development and the Urban Renaissance Agency, with completion slated for August 2025.

Background of 'FreeiD' Implementation in Mitamachiterrace

The decision to incorporate 'FreeiD' into Mitamachiterrace comes on the heels of successful installations in the headquarters and workplaces of Chuo Nippon Land Development. Given the positive feedback regarding security and convenience from these initial uses, it was a natural choice for the new complex. Mitamachiterrace, a cutting-edge building featuring 20 floors above ground and 3 below, is strategically located just steps from Mita Station and near Tamachi Station, making it highly accessible. Furthermore, the building is designed to meet modern business needs with a focus on smart office technology, BCP (business continuity planning) readiness, and sustainability.

Enhanced Security and Convenience Features

DXYZ has equipped various access points, including flap gates on each floor and automatic doors at the parking entrance, with the 'FreeiD' face recognition platform. This seamless integration eliminates the need for traditional key cards, reducing the risks associated with lost or borrowed ID cards and ensuring accurate individual verification. The system also accelerates the authentication process, enhancing productivity by allowing users to bypass the typical card retrieval and contact processes.

DXYZ's vision extends beyond just this installation. They are committed to further innovations that will enable a world where just a face is all you need to engage freely with your surroundings. An earlier implementation of 'FreeiD' was successfully launched at the Chuo Nippon Land Development headquarters and its workplace facility, NAKANIWA, further validating its effectiveness.

What is 'FreeiD'?

The 'FreeiD' platform revolutionizes how individuals interact with their environments by consolidating various forms of identification into facial verification. This means one can access premises, make payments, and confirm their identity using just their face thanks to a single facial registration. The system’s versatility allows for integration with various face recognition AI technologies, tailored to specific usage scenarios.

Currently, 'FreeiD' is being deployed in diverse applications, including housing complexes, offices, theme parks, golf courses, and childcare facilities. Its office services promote a workplace model where employee access, visitor reception, and even entry control can be managed through facial recognition, eliminating the need for employee ID cards. Additionally, the platform is progressing with experimental projects, such as 'FreeiD Pay,' which integrates facial recognition into payment processes, and collaborations with the My Number Card system to enhance public services.
