Invitation to Free Webinar: "Navigating Intellectual Property Vol. 3"
Authense Law Firm, located in Minato, Tokyo, is excited to announce a valuable upcoming event. On August 20, 2025, we will host Vol. 3 of our webinar series titled "Navigating Intellectual Property," focusing on the critical intersection of design and legal practice. Our speaker, Masaki Toyama, a former patent office examiner, will guide attendees through essential design concepts that every legal professional should know.
Why Design Matters for Lawyers
As society shifts from valuing material abundance to prioritizing emotional fulfillment, legal practitioners must adapt. The rapid advancements in technology, the effects of aging populations, and increasing emphasis on sustainability mean that corporations must focus on creating value from the user’s perspective. This transition has led to rising interest in design management and service design as powerful business strategies.
It's not uncommon for legal departments to receive inquiries regarding design-related legalities, such as "Can this design be registered?" or "Who holds the rights?" Yet, lack of understanding about design can lead to delays and ambiguous responses, hindering business agility. In this engaging webinar, we will delve into these issues.
Session Highlights
1.
Understanding Design: We will explore the essence and multiple facets of design, examining its historical context, educational influences, and contemporary significance.
2.

3.
