Major Update in PSO2 New Genesis Ver.2

SEGA has recently announced a significant update for the popular online RPG, PSO2 New Genesis Ver.2 (often referred to as NGS Ver.2). This update was rolled out on July 8, 2026, and includes the highly anticipated addition of Rank.3 to the major target defeat mission titled 'The Indication of Star Destruction.'

Introduction of New Challenges

The newly added Rank.3 in the 'The Indication of Star Destruction' mission brings new challenges for players. Instead of facing Dark Falz: Solas, adventurers will now encounter the formidable Solas Crypt. This quest introduces unique and varied attack patterns, including field patrol mechanics and phantom attacks, ensuring a thrilling and demanding experience.

As with previous major target missions, up to four players can participate in this quest, but caution is advised: a set number of incapacitations will lead to mission failure. Players can accept the quest multiple times from the 'Teleporter' located in the Southwest Central Ritem, so it's wise to gather the best gear and prepare thoroughly to overcome this challenge.

To complement the new quest, SEGA has also added new title tasks and updated weekly tasks. Achieving these tasks allows players to earn titles and rewards such as the 'N-Master Cube.'

Introduction of New Equipment and Abilities

In this update, a new series of ★15 weapons known as the Kaiz series is being introduced. The Kaiz weapons feature a unique potential that increases damage resistance each time specific conditions are met. Additionally, fulfilling all three conditions will amplify critical hit rate and damage, making these weapons even more powerful.

Two new special abilities have also debuted: C/Petadriela and C/Refasdria. Players can craft C/Petadriela at the item lab using 'Special Ability Capsules' with materials including C/Refasdria and C/Teradriela.

Both the Kaiz series and C/Refasdria are obtainable not only in Rank.3 of the The Indication of Star Destruction mission but also through upcoming updates.

New Mission Pass Season 58: NGS Season58

The latest mission pass, NGS Season58, has also been introduced, promising a host of attractive rewards. Players can earn Stars by completing tasks, which will help them level up their Tiers to unlock various in-game rewards.

Among the rewards are exciting accessories and other valuable items such as 3-day Shop Rental and SG Scratch Exchange Coupons. Notably, accessories from the original Phantasy Star Online 2 like Varda Alm and Varda Legs, as well as a new item, the Metal Fang Mask, are part of this season's offerings. The Magform/Rainyan, a special feature based on Rainyan from PSO2, is also making its debut.
