Exploring Growth: The Mutsuzawa Station Children's Inquiry Camp 2025

Mutsuzawa Station to Host Children’s Inquiry Camp

Mutsuzawa Station, operated by Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd., will be holding the "Children's Inquiry Camp (UJack Mutsuzawa Auto Camp Field Edition)" on November 22-23, 2025. Targeting youth from 3rd grade in elementary school to 3rd grade in junior high, the initiative aims to foster children's growth through collaboration with local businesses and educational organizations.

Mutsuzawa Station and the UJack Mutsuzawa Auto Camp Field will serve as the main venues for this engaging program. As part of the program, children will have the chance to experience the unique natural environment and cultural heritage of Mutsuzawa-cho, learning how to think and act independently through hands-on activities.

What to Expect at the Camp

This program is designed as a local experiential learning initiative, encouraging children to engage with their surroundings in ways that enhance their knowledge and skills. Hosted in partnership with the educational organization Study Base, notable for its local commitment, and supported by UJack, the camp will provide outdoor learning opportunities such as tent pitching, fire-starting, and BBQ-making.

In addition to outdoor activities, participants will also visit a local spice factory and engage in a sales experience, offering them insight into local industries and cultures as part of their career education. The collaborative effort with five local companies—CHIBA Mutsuzawa Energy Co., Ltd., Goudou Resources Co., Ltd., Mutsuzawa Post Office, Chiba Bank, and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.—reflects a community commitment to nurture the youth of Mutsuzawa-cho.

The Broader Impact

The camp is part of a broader trend in Japan's rural revitalization, where road stations like Mutsuzawa are evolving beyond mere transit stops to become central hubs for community support, industrial promotion, and disaster response. As Japan faces challenges like an aging population and declining birthrate, Mutsuzawa Station is working towards making its town a place where people want to visit, live in, and work.

Previous initiatives included the "Tudoi no Terakoya", held between 2022-2024, which provided a focused study environment for students. Feedback from participants highlighted a renewed enthusiasm for their future educational and career paths. The transition to the Children's Inquiry Camp format represents an evolution in community engagement, expanding access while deepening connections with the local populace.

Educational Objectives

The initiative focuses on enhancing career education and stimulating interest in local jobs through collaborations with nearby businesses. Through meaningful interactions, children can cultivate a sense of belonging in their community, while growing their understanding of personal development and societal contributions.
