Celebrating Creativity with Duck® Brand
The Duck® Brand is once again back in action as it celebrates National Promposal Day with the announcement of the 26th
Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest. This exciting contest invites high school students from across the U.S. and Canada to showcase their artistic talents by designing prom attire entirely made from Duck Tape®. 🎉
What is the Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest?
The Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest encourages teenagers to unleash their creativity by crafting stunning prom dresses and tuxedos out of Duck Tape®. Students can submit their designs for a chance to win a
$10,000 scholarship to support their educational goals.
In this year's contest, there's an added flair with the introduction of a new
patriotic-themed award category. This offers contestants even broader opportunities to express their individuality through their designs while paying homage to their nation.
How to Enter
Starting from
March 25, students can begin entering their submissions by uploading photos of their improvised Duck Tape® creations at
Duckbrand.com/StuckAtProm. The submission period will close on
June 3. Entries will be judged on various criteria including originality, craftsmanship, color usage, and the creative integration of Duck Tape® into their designs.
The Selection Process
A panel of expert judges will select the top 10 finalists, five from the dress category and five from the tuxedo category. Once the finalists are announced, the public will have a chance to vote for their favorite designs from
June 29 to July 13. The two entries—one dress and one tuxedo—with the highest votes will each secure the title of Grand Prize winners, thus bagging the coveted
$10,000 scholarships.
For achievers beyond the Grand Prize, there are
eight runners-up who will receive $1,000 scholarships and a Duck® brand prize pack valued at $100. Additionally, three contestants will be honored with special prizes of
$1,000 each in unique categories:
- - Runway Worthy: Most fashionable design
- - Most Inspiring: Best cultural representation or story behind the creation
- - Trust E.'s Choice: Judges' top pick
Celebrating America's Spirit
To mark America's
250th birthday, entries are also eligible for the new
Red, White & Made By You award. Contestants can showcase their patriotism with designs highlighting red, white, and blue themes for a chance to win
$250 cash prizes.
All winners will be announced around
July 20. For full details about eligibility, categories, and submission guidelines, check out

Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec), aged at least
14 years and currently enrolled in high school or an associated homeschooling program during the 2025-2026 school year.
Since its inception, the Stuck at Prom® initiative has awarded over
$500,000 in scholarships, reinforcing the commitment to fostering young talent. Kerry Haugh, the director of product marketing at Shurtape Technologies, commented on the journey, saying, "What began as a crafting challenge has evolved into a powerful outlet for self-expression, allowing students to narrate their stories through unique creations."
