In a heartfelt initiative for Homelessness Awareness Month, CITGO Petroleum Corporation has pledged a substantial $60,000 to various organizations dedicated to aiding homeless individuals and families across the regions they serve. Recipients of the Generous Donation

Each of the following notable organizations will receive $15,000 to bolster their services for the homeless:

1. Corpus Christi (Texas) Metro Ministries
This sponsorship will enhance Metro Ministries' core services, which include meals, shelter, healthcare, and case management for individuals facing homelessness in the Coastal Bend Region of Texas. With CITGO's support, the organization aims to extend its reach, ensuring that over 1,200 individuals in need receive essential help each week.

2. Healthcare for the Homeless-Houston (HHH)
The contribution from CITGO will support HHH’s comprehensive, integrated, trauma-informed healthcare services designed to assist the most vulnerable residents of Houston. Each year, HHH serves over 6,500 adults and children through various health services, including primary and preventive care, mental health counseling, dental and vision services, and addiction recovery support.

3. Sulphur (Louisiana) Christian Community Coalition
Operating Hope Refuge, this coalition supports homeless individuals and those at risk of losing their homes. The CITGO funds will help supply community breakfasts, provide access to showers and laundry, and establish cooling and warming centers. They also assist with essential health services and detox programs aimed at ensuring stability for individuals dealing with homelessness.

4. MorningStar Mission Ministries (Joliet, Ill.)
Daily hot meals are provided by MorningStar Mission at the East Side Café, one of the few agencies in Will County offering such continuous assistance. The generous donation from CITGO will be utilized to make necessary improvements to their facilities, helping them serve nearly 89,000 meals in the previous year alone.
