Bib & Tucker Introduces Gold Roast Bourbon, Merging Coffee and Whiskey Traditions

Bib & Tucker Reveals Gold Roast Bourbon

Bib & Tucker Small Batch Bourbon has made waves in the spirits industry with the introduction of its new signature release, Gold Roast Bourbon. This innovative blend showcases a union between traditional Tennessee bourbon and the roasted richness of Arabica coffee. Crafted through a meticulous process, Gold Roast Bourbon is designed for aficionados who appreciate depth and character in their whiskey.

A Unique Creation

The Gold Roast Bourbon is a 6-year-aged Tennessee Bourbon that undergoes a distinctive finishing process. This bourbon isn’t just any spirit; it is artfully finished using whole roasted Arabica coffee beans, sourced from Muletown Coffee Roasters in Tennessee. The spirit captures the essence of a classic American coffee and bourbon ritual, reminiscent of cozy gatherings and shared stories from the early 1900s.

“This release seeks to celebrate the enduring bond between coffee and bourbon,” says Alan Kennedy, Master Blender at Bib & Tucker. He emphasizes that the goal was to reflect the richness of a specially roasted coffee in a bourbon without overshadowing its inherent qualities. The final product balances the smoothness of their 6-Year Tennessee Bourbon with notes of roasted coffee, vanilla, and milk chocolate, resulting in a complex drinking experience.

Crafting the Perfect Blend

To achieve this beautiful marriage of flavors, Bib & Tucker employs a series of artisanal methods:
1. Filtering: The bourbon is initially filtered through sugar maple charcoal as per the Lincoln County Process to ensure exceptional smoothness.
2. Aging: It is then aged in new American oak barrels for a minimum of six years, allowing the spirit to develop depth and character.
3. Coffee Infusion: During its final maturation stage, Arabica coffee beans, roasted to specific standards, are steeped into the bourbon using a cold extraction method. This process ensures the infusion preserves the aromatic qualities of the coffee while maintaining the bourbon's integrity.
4. Blending: Finally, the bourbon is meticulously blended to ensure a consistent and harmonious flavor profile.

Kennedy highlights the significance of their collaboration with Muletown Coffee Roasters, noting that both brands share a commitment to an artisan approach that prioritizes quality over mere production volume.

Tasting Notes

  • - Nose: The aroma opens with delightful scents of brewed coffee intertwined with rich molasses and gentle hints of sweet corn and spice.
  • - Palate: On the palate, the bourbon unfolds a tapestry of flavors, with vanilla and young oak melding seamlessly with velvety milk chocolate notes.
  • - Finish: The experience culminates in a medium-long finish, marked by lasting impressions of oak, vanilla, and a touch of dark roast coffee.
  • - Color: The bourbon features a deep amber hue, closely resembling walnut or brown sherry.
