High Voter Engagement in Texas Primaries Supports Property Rights Candidates
In the wake of the 2026 Texas primaries, voter enthusiasm has led to notable victories for candidates advocating for property rights and an improved housing landscape. The Texas Realtors Political Action Committee (TREPAC) proudly acknowledges these achievements, marking a significant turning point in the political course of the state. With an impressive voter turnout, Texans have sent a strong message in support of candidates promising to protect property rights while promoting lower property taxes and expansive housing opportunities.
James Martin, the 2026 Chair of TREPAC, highlighted the pride felt for Realtor members and other real estate professionals who stepped up to fill legislative roles across numerous districts within Texas. Martin emphasized, "Texas Realtors care deeply about their communities, their neighbors, and the future of our state. We applaud the commitment these candidates have shown towards civic leadership and public service."
TREPAC rallied behind a total of 56 candidates for positions in state and statewide offices, with 42 securing their party nominations directly and three others progressing to runoff elections. This demonstrates a collective commitment to elected officials who recognize the critical nature of safeguarding personal property rights while also working towards the reduction of excessive regulations that can hinder housing developments.
Moreover, TREPAC indicates the urgent need for investment in critical infrastructure, including water, transportation, and energy systems, which are essential in maintaining the strength and vitality of Texas communities, both large and small.
In recognizing the collective effort of those involved, Martin noted, "The Texas Realtors look forward to collaborating with both newly elected and returning legislators, ensuring that Texas remains a state where communities thrive and the aspiration of homeownership is attainable for everyone."
