Canarina Unveils Its First New Product: Butter and Fruit Sandwiches

Canarina's Latest Delight: Fruit and Butter Sandwich

Since its opening, Canarina, the specialty butter sweets store, is set to unveil its very first new product, the "Fruit and Butter Sandwich," on June 1, 2025. Known for its luxurious use of butter and seasonal fruits, Canarina aims to provide a delightful bite-sized experience that encapsulates its unique flavor combinations.

About Canarina

Canarina opened its doors on April 17, 2024, within the JR Shinjuku Station's EATo LUMINE commercial complex. Since then, it has been recognized for its innovative take on butter sweets, culminating in a major award. In August 2024, its "Fruit and Butter Cookies" won the Grand Prize at the "JR East Gift Grand Prix 2024," solidifying its reputation as a go-to destination for quality gifts and souvenirs.

The essence of Canarina lies in celebrating the charm of butter combined with various fruits. The shop’s products allow customers to rediscover the elegant flavors of butter through a spectrum of colorful fruits, offering diverse tastes, textures, and aromas.

The Anticipated New Product: Fruit and Butter Sandwich

The Fruit and Butter Sandwich is a whimsical blend made with six different fruits: pistachios, cashews, pineapples, papayas, raisins, and cranberries combined with a rich buttercream, all sandwiched between lightly baked dacquoise. This treat is designed to give customers an exquisite tasting experience of combined flavors from the fruits and the rich butter.

Development Process

The creation of the Fruit and Butter Sandwich is rooted in Canarina’s vision of making the enchanting combination of fruit and butter accessible to a wider audience. Starters focused on enhancing the freshness of fruit while developing aspects like size, volume, and mouthfeel. After numerous iterations, the perfected sandwich concept emerged, highlighting the transformed buttercream filled with natural fruit and remaining nut textures for an appealing contrast of flavors and sensations.

The sandwich features a dacquoise base that is light and airy, offering a satisfying crunch that harmonizes beautifully with the indulgent buttercream.

A Visual Treat

The sandwich is also visually captivating, designed to showcase an array of colorful fruits around the edges. It’s suggested to enjoy chilled during the summer months, further enhancing its fresh appeal.

With convenience in mind, the new product comes individually packaged, allowing for easy transport. Additionally, a special box is available, making it a fantastic gift option for a variety of occasions, from casual outings to formal gifts.
