Monogoto Unveils Aether Integration at MWC Barcelona
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Monogoto, recognized as a key player in cloud-based cellular connectivity, made headlines by announcing its adoption of the Aether open-source project. This initiative is designed to empower the next generation of private 4G and 5G networks and is showcased at Booth 5I51.
What is Aether?
Aether, developed under the auspices of the Linux Foundation, serves as a robust cloud platform tailored for building private networks. It integrates several sub-projects including SD-Core (open 5G mobile core) and SD-RAN (open RAN), significantly enhancing mobile networking solutions. By integrating Aether into its extensive connectivity cloud, Monogoto aims to offer developers advanced tools and components to effortlessly configure and manage their private networks.
Enhancements Introduced by Monogoto
Monogoto's engagement with Aether includes substantial advancements across three main areas:
1. Advanced Use Cases and Radio Support
Monogoto is adding support for Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) and Category-N (Cat-N) functionalities. This move allows for the integration of sub-GHz radios with Aether, broadening its deployment scope for IoT applications.
2. Streamlined Network Management
To make the management of private networks much more efficient, Monogoto is introducing over 50 new APIs.
- - These APIs facilitate smoother configuration and operational processes, streamlining monitoring tasks across various network parameters.
- - Additionally, users will have centralized access to crucial data, such as Call Detail Records (CDRs) which allows for tracking of SIM card usage, radio status, and overall network performance.
3. Improved Quality of Service (QoS) Monitoring
The tools to monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs), radio performance, and backhaul efficiency ensure robust network connectivity. This guarantees high-quality experiences for enterprise clients deploying private networks.
