Join Us for the Running Workshop with Athletes!



Are you ready to hit the track and run alongside some of the fastest and most inspiring para-athletes? On January 17, 2025, in Setagaya, Tokyo, a special running workshop titled "Run with Athletes! Running Workshop" will take place. This event invites all running enthusiasts, regardless of their abilities, to learn from accomplished athletes and enhance their skills.

  • - Event Name: Run with Athletes! Running Workshop
  • - Date: January 17, 2025 (Saturday)
- Morning Session: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Registration starts at 9:30 AM)
- Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM (Registration starts at 1:00 PM)
  • - Location: Setagaya Comprehensive Sports Grounds (Athletics Stadium)
  • - Address: 4-6-1 Okura, Setagaya, Tokyo
  • - Participation Fee: Free of charge
  • - Maximum Participants: 100 (50 for each session, selected by lottery if applications exceed capacity)

What to Expect


This workshop will not only provide essential warm-up exercises but also offer valuable insights on running techniques, including tips for speed and endurance, from top-tier athletes who have competed on the world stage. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with athletes, gaining knowledge and sharing experiences.

You will witness elite athletes demonstrate their running prowess up close, ask questions, and even have casual conversations while running. This interactive experience aims to bridge the gap between spectators and para-athletes, offering a closer look at their inspiring journeys. Moreover, during the interaction session, you might get a chance to handle real medals and take photos with the athletes, making it a memorable day!

Featured Athletes


The workshop will feature several outstanding athletes, including:
  • - Takuma Sasaki: A member of the Japanese team for the 2025 Deaflympics, Takuma is a gold medalist in the 100m event at the 2022 Brazil Deaflympics.
  • - Mio Okada: Also a participant in the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, Mio won a bronze medal in the 1500m at the Brazil Deaflympics in 2022.
  • - Shuta Kawakami: With a visual impairment, Shuta has made headlines as a bronze medalist in the 100m at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
  • - Takeru Matsumoto: A promising athlete with cerebral palsy, Takeru has competed in various international events, including the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympics.
  • - Tomoki Tagawa: Having represented Japan at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, Tomoki won a bronze medal in the men's relay.
  • - Kotomi Yoshikawa: A notable athlete with cerebral palsy, Kotomi has been an important part of Japan’s representation in para athletics.
  • - Ayano Yoshida: Competing in the T34 category, Ayano has consistently ranked in the top tiers at international events.
  • - Additional Athletes: Expect 8-10 athletes in total, with potential changes in the lineup.
