Government Support for Taxi Operators
In response to the soaring oil prices, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has announced the initiation of the 25th phase of the support program for taxi operators facing significant fuel price fluctuations. This program aims to alleviate the burden on taxi companies utilizing LP gas during the period from April 1 to May 31, 2026.
Application Period and Eligibility
Starting from July 9, 2026, applications are open for taxi operators running general passenger transportation services. The application will be accepted until September 4, 2026, at 4 PM. This marks the continuation of the program after its 24 previous phases, where the government has been proactive in countering the unexpected impacts of rising fuel prices on everyday life and transportation services.
Details of the Support
The support specifically targets the LP gas cost burden faced by those taxi operators during the designated period. It is essential to note that any operations beginning from June 2026 onward will be communicated separately regarding their support measures. Therefore, it's crucial for taxi operators to stay informed and check the designated support program's website for updates, guidelines, and application procedures.
Executing Body
The implementation of this program will be overseen by the secretariat based at Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd. Taxi operators seeking more information about the specifics of the program, including how to apply, can visit the dedicated web portal:
LPG Subsidy Website.
It's noteworthy that the application formats and contact details differ from the previous phases, so taxi operators should take heed to ensure a smooth application process. Additionally, operators who previously received subsidies in phases 22 to 24 may find the process for the 25th phase simplified, enhancing accessibility to the support offered.
Important reminders
As for business operations after June 2026, further announcements will provide necessary details to the taxi operators. Furthermore, operators should be aware that the application window for phases 1 to 24, covering the period from January 2022 to March 2026, has already closed.
As fuel prices continue to be a significant challenge for the transportation sector, this support program signifies the government's commitment to assisting taxi operators in navigating these challenges while ensuring the stability of public transportation services. Operators are encouraged to act promptly and take advantage of the support available during this critical period.
