Vancouver, British Columbia – In a significant leadership move, Vizsla Silver Corp. has announced the appointment of Luis Lázaro as President of its Mexican operations. This decision, effective immediately, is expected to enhance the company's capabilities as it navigates the next phases of the Panuco silver project.

As President, Luis Lázaro will oversee all in-country operations and will play a crucial role in advancing the Panuco project through key stages such as permitting, construction, and eventual production. Reporting directly to the CEO, Lázaro will work with the executive leadership to cultivate high-performing teams and solidify relationships with essential stakeholders, all while maintaining operational excellence as the company aims for silver production in the latter half of 2027.

Michael Konnert, the President and CEO of Vizsla Silver, emphasized Lázaro’s impressive track record. “Luis is a highly accomplished executive with a proven background in managing complex operations and building successful companies in Mexico,” he stated. “His appointment adds depth to our leadership and enhances our in-country expertise during this pivotal growth phase.”

Lázaro brings a wealth of experience, with over 30 years of leadership in multinational companies, entrepreneurial ventures, and privately-owned businesses within Mexico. Before joining Vizsla, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Citrofrut, the largest citrus juice processor in Mexico, where he executed a transformative business strategy, shifting the company's focus toward higher-value specialty products and improving operational performance for long-term growth.

His leadership journey also includes significant roles in diverse sectors. He headed the fishing division at Grupo PINSA, one of Mexico's leading seafood companies, founded a venture focusing on sweet sorghum-based ethanol production, and started his career with CEMEX in operations management roles. Lázaro is well-educated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an MBA from IMD International in Switzerland, along with completing the prestigious Stanford Executive Program.

In addition to his corporate roles, he actively contributes to society as a mentor for budding entrepreneurs through Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Enlace+ Program and invests in emerging ideas as an angel investor with Angel Hub in Monterrey.

Strategic Update: Expansion of Responsibilities

Alongside Lázaro’s appointment, Vizsla Silver has announced an important management update. Guillermo Hernandez, the new Vice President of Exploration, will expand his responsibilities to include oversight of the geological function following the resignation of Chief Geologist Jesus Velador, effective August 27, 2026.

Konnert expressed gratitude for Velador’s contributions, highlighting his technical leadership and extensive knowledge of the Panuco project, which has been vital in reaching the current stage of development.
