Empowering Women: The Positive Shift in Perceptions of Birth Control at WEHealth2026 Event

SQUIZ Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, showcased its online prescription service Oops WOMB at the recent WEHealth2026 event, conducted by Stellar Inc. This significant event took place at WITH HARAJUKU on March 6-7, aligning with International Women’s Day to explore women's health, wellness, and career topics through engaging experiences. The event attracted approximately 2,300 attendees over two days, underscoring the growing interest in women's health issues.

What is WEHealth?

The WEHealth event is designed to empower women through a creative and hands-on festival atmosphere. With numerous booths and talk sessions, it brought the community together to discuss and learn more about women's health in a comprehensive manner. Over these two days, 2,300 participants engaged with various content, demonstrating a significant public interest in topics surrounding women's health and well-being.

Oops WOMB's Unique Booth at the Event

Under the slogan "A Touch of Peace with Your Uterus Every Day," Oops WOMB offers online healthcare services focusing on birth control pills and menopausal herbal remedies. At the event, they set up a unique booth featuring a quiz and game concept called "SHIQ (Shikyu Aikyu)." This interactive component included 15 quiz questions aimed at testing and expanding attendees’ knowledge about uterine health and contraceptive methods.

While the primary audience consisted of women aged 20 to 40, many attendees encouraged family participation, with couples expressing a desire for mutual understanding and parents wishing to educate their children.

Engaging Participants

Over the two days, 1,357 individuals engaged with the quizzes and games housed at the Oops WOMB booth. Nearly 60% of the total event attendees participated, indicating an overwhelming interest in learning about birth control and reproductive health. The quizzes, addressing misconceptions, advantages, and lesser-known facts about birth control methods, intrigued many. Participants shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, stating that they found the experience fun and informative, with many commenting on the retention of information due to the enjoyable format.

One participant noted, "I learned so much and had fun while doing it!" Another shared, "I was surprised about my misconceptions regarding the pill and how little I knew about menstruation." The event allowed individuals to rethink their perceptions regarding their bodies and health, fostering a more informed community.

After the quiz experience, a survey indicated a notable change in perceptions about birth control, with around 72% of respondents reporting a positive shift in their views. This shift included 31.5% recognizing a change from negative to positive images, alongside 40.6% who felt an enhanced sense of assurance regarding the pills.

Participant Insights

Responses to open-ended survey questions revealed many participants surprised by newfound knowledge about their bodies. Common revelations included the smaller size of the uterus than anticipated and a clearer understanding of normal menstrual flow. Misconceptions about the effects of the contraceptive pill, such as gaining weight, were clarified, illustrating Oops WOMB's role in dispelling myths related to reproductive health. Over 75% of respondents expressed having discovered new insights concerning birth control.
