Nikken Total Sourcing Launches Second IT Training Center in Nagoya

Nikken Total Sourcing Expands IT Training Reach in Japan

In response to the increasing demand for IT professionals amid a nationwide talent shortage, Nikken Total Sourcing, based in Ota City, Tokyo, recently opened a new IT Training Center in Nagoya. This center, inaugurated on June 16, 2023, serves as the company's second facility dedicated to IT education, aiming to tackle the pressing need for skilled workers in the tech sector.

Addressing IT Talent Shortage

The need for IT personnel has surged significantly as companies accelerate their digital transformation (DX) initiatives. According to a report from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the country could face a shortage of approximately 790,000 IT professionals by 2030. Moreover, nearly 90% of business leaders and HR professionals in the tech field have acknowledged feeling the impact of this crisis.

Nikken Total Sourcing recognizes this critical challenge and has launched various IT training programs to cultivate talent tailored to industry needs. In May 2024, the company introduced a new IT training program, complementing its first training center which was established in Ota City. However, as the sole center serving the vast central and western regions of Japan, it became apparent that the demands of local businesses necessitated another facility.

To bridge this gap and meet the needs of businesses in the Chubu and Kansai regions, the company decided to open the IT Training Center in Nagoya. This initiative ensures that foundational and advanced training in IT, including programming and specialized courses, can be accessed locally, thereby reducing the logistical burden on trainees who previously had to travel long distances. This new center allows for a streamlined approach to the training process, helping to develop IT talent across various skill levels.

Comprehensive Training Offerings

The Nagoya IT Training Center is equipped to offer an extensive curriculum designed to cover essential IT skills ranging from computer theory to databases and networking. Expert instructors with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry lead the training sessions. Trainees can expect to complete an intensive two-month program that equips them with the necessary skills to build a successful career as IT engineers.

Following the center's opening, the course offerings will also undergo enhancements. For instance, the programming training previously focused on C language will include embedded programming elements, thus addressing the rising demand for engineers in fields like consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial machinery.

Nikken Total Sourcing is committed to continuously updating the training content to reflect industry trends and new technological advancements. This agile approach ensures that trainees receive up-to-date knowledge and skills, preparing them for the evolving challenges of the IT sector. Furthermore, the company supports trainees comprehensively on their path to becoming proficient IT engineers.
