Enhanced Support for the Learning Support Program
The Yaruki Switch Group, a comprehensive educational service provider based in Chuo, Tokyo, has announced an expansion of their assistance for the Learning Support Program (LSP) run by the Yoshinaga Educational Foundation, which aims to support orphaned youth in Japan and abroad. As part of this initiative, the Group will now provide free educational expertise to orphans eligible for high school scholarships. This includes launching an online lecture series aimed at guiding high school students and their parents through the university entrance exam process.
Background on the Support and Previous Initiatives
The Yoshinaga Educational Foundation has highlighted significant challenges faced by children in orphan families, such as the lack of role models and educational disparity. Such issues can lead to early abandonment of higher education pursuits. The COVID-19 pandemic heightened concerns over learning support when schools were closed. In response, the Foundation launched the Learning Support Program in the fall of 2020, providing individualized online tutoring from university scholarship students.
Since its inception, the Yaruki Switch Group has actively participated in the program, leveraging expertise from their tutoring franchise, School IE. Their support now focuses on three key areas:
1.
Online Lectures for High School Students and Parents
Recognizing the importance of parental understanding and involvement in students' educational journeys, the Group has initiated online lectures featuring instructors from School IE. These sessions aim to provide vital information on admission processes and career choices, empowering students to take charge of their future. Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, praising the informative content and relevance of discussions that are often difficult to find elsewhere.
2.
Training for Learning Support Supervisors (SVs)
Regular workshops have been implemented for Foundation staff members who supervise and mentor the learning support tutors. These training sessions, facilitated by educational professionals from the Yaruki Switch Group, cover practical strategies for engaging students who may lack study habits and addressing the unique challenges faced by high schoolers.
3.
Free Access to Premium Video Lessons
To support the quality of tutoring provided by volunteers, the Yaruki Switch Group offers complimentary access to their extensive library of professional video lessons. These resources cover essential topics across subjects, further enhancing the tutors' instructional skills.
Participation in the Program Completion Ceremony
An online completion ceremony for the 2025 program was held on March 15, 2026. The Yaruki Switch Group attended as a cooperating organization, extending congratulations and gratitude to the students, supporters, and staff who dedicated the past year to their educational pursuits.
Future Developments
Motivated by the Group's philosophy to help every child discover and nurture their innate potential, they are committed to deepening collaborations with the Yoshinaga Educational Foundation. By applying their educational experience and operational expertise, they aim to bridge the educational information gap that children face, ultimately expanding their future opportunities. The Group views this mission as pivotal to their efforts and intends to widen the circle of support even further.
