This June, Southern California will welcome some of the biggest soccer matches in the world, attracting enthusiasts from all over. The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is prepared to play a critical role in transporting fans to these thrilling events with convenience and style.

The matches will kick off on June 12 at the Los Angeles Stadium, and fans eager to join in on the excitement should take note of several key updates regarding travel arrangements. Starting June 11, every Pacific Surfliner train will require reservations until July 19. This change is due to the expected surge in passenger numbers on game days, making early booking essential for securing your preferred departure times. To enhance fan experience, the Flexibility of travel will be significantly improved, especially for the late-night return home after matches. The Pacific Surfliner is introducing additional late-night train services specifically on crucial match days—June 12, 13, 15, and 25—allowing fans to celebrate every final whistle and head home the same night. On select days, trains will depart later from Union Station to accommodate those headed south to San Diego and north to Santa Barbara.

In a sign of their commitment to connecting fans seamlessly, the Pacific Surfliner will also be adding new stops for the LA 26 Fan Zone Weekend on July 18 and 19. This will provide fans with direct access to events designed to enhance the game day experience, giving attendees a chance to enjoy the festivities in style.

Traveling to the Stadium
Getting to the stadium is straightforward. Fans simply need to hop on the Pacific Surfliner to Los Angeles Union Station, where they can connect to the Metro service heading straight to the stadium. Costing only $1.75 each way, the Metro service runs from four hours before kickoff and continues for 90 minutes post-game, making it hassle-free with no worries about parking or traffic.

Even if you don’t have a ticket to the match, there’s still plenty to enjoy. The LA World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Union Station will be open from June 25 to June 28, from 10 AM to 9 PM daily. The Pacific Surfliner will make stops to ensure access to live screenings, watch parties, and unique fan events along the route, particularly in areas like Anaheim, San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot, and the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.

Special Discounts for Fans
In collaboration with LA Tourism and Convention Board, Pacific Surfliner is offering a 20% discount on bus and executive class fares to and from Los Angeles until July 15. Fans are encouraged to book early at PacificSurfliner.com/soccer2026 to secure their reduced fares.

It’s essential to keep in mind that during peak travel periods, certain shared services and Rail 2 Rail options may be temporarily suspended.
