Marshall's Keep Live Music Alive Campaign Thrives in Seoul
On October 11, 2026, Marshall delighted music lovers in Seoul with an unforgettable event titled "LIVE FROM YEONNAM: HYUKOH". This vibrant gathering celebrated grassroots music culture in the charming district of Yeonnam-dong. The event featured live performances from the popular band HYUKOH and several other local artists, effectively showcasing the rich local music scene. In addition to live music, attendees enjoyed a bustling block party and a flea market for music enthusiasts, solidifying the community's connection to music.
As part of Marshall's global "KEEP LIVE MUSIC ALIVE" campaign, the event aimed to uplift grassroots music venues, artists, and the communities that foster new music cultures. The passion this initiative embodies resonates deeply as it seeks to create a thriving environment for live performances. Marshall brought together artists, venue operators, local creatives, and audiences, creating an immersive experience that highlighted the essence of live music.
Channel 1969, a cherished grassroots venue that has collaborated with Marshall since the early development of its local initiatives, played host to a series of electrifying performances. Artists like OYSTERS, SAILORHONEYMOON, and Tiger Disco graced the stage. The nearby Dongjin Market's parking area transformed into a lively hub, featuring performances that were livestreamed, thus creating an inclusive atmosphere for all attendees, both inside the venue and out.
Estimates suggested approximately 1,350 people attended this exciting event. Attendance at Channel 1969 reached around 150, while the outdoor area surged in popularity, peaking after 6 p.m., especially between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. This event illustrated the potential for live music experiences to extend beyond a single location, engaging a diverse array of local spaces and communities.
This initiative also marked the debut of Marshall's "MADE OF LOUD" brand philosophy in Korea, which was introduced earlier this year. This philosophy reinforces Marshall's deep-rooted connection to live music, artists, venues, and the vibrant communities that sustain them. Issei Iimura, Marshall's Head of Marketing in Korea, expressed the company's dedication, stating, "Marshall has stood alongside artists, music venues and music lovers for more than 60 years. Guided by the philosophy of MADE OF LOUD, we will continue to spotlight and support the people and places where live music begins and grows."
Following the success in Yeonnam-dong, Marshall has exciting plans to expand its "LIVE FROM" series to additional locations, genres, and both online and offline communities. These activities will further strengthen Marshall's collaboration with local grassroots venues, artists, and the local music communities in South Korea.
