The production of their latest pharmaceutical additive, Viscomedi, officially commenced this month, marking a significant milestone for the company.

Hannong Chemicals, based in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, previously announced their development of a polyacrylic acid partial neutralization material tailored for pharmaceutical applications. This product has now been branded as Viscomedi, representing a promising new option for the industry, especially in light of increasing global demand for high-quality pharmaceutical materials.

The manufacturing facility, constructed in South Korea, is equipped with the latest filling machinery, ensuring a reliable supply and consistent quality of Viscomedi. After the completion of the facility in November last year, rigorous testing and legal compliance checks were conducted to prepare for the product's official launch.

Product Development and Features of Viscomedi

Viscomedi is designed as a water-soluble polymer used in transdermal patches and cooling sheets, derived from synthetic polymers based on acrylic acid. The product possesses distinct features such as adhesive and thickening properties, making it valuable in pharmaceutical formulations. As the global population ages, demand for products like transdermal patches is expected to rise significantly. Similarly, cooling sheets are projected to see increased usage as effective preventive measures against heat-related illnesses during the summer months.

Having initiated sample distributions last year during the pilot phase, Shoko Co., Ltd. is now proud to launch Viscomedi as its official product name.
