Mokas Coffee & Eatery Announces Leadership Transition
As Mokas Coffee & Eatery gears up to celebrate its 20th anniversary this November, significant changes are underway in its leadership. Recently, Scott Redler, a seasoned industry veteran, announced his transition from President to Board Member, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the brand as it aims for national growth.
Mokas Coffee & Eatery, widely recognized for its superior coffee, freshly baked pastries, and a diverse menu of breakfast and lunch items, is set to build on the solid foundation established under Redler's leadership. He is known for co-founding the successful Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, which expanded from a single location to over 400 outlets in 36 states during his tenure. Redler joined Mokas in early 2024 with a mission to enhance operational systems and to lay ground for the brand; his efforts culminated in signing Mokas' first franchisee.
With Redler’s support, Mokas has already made strides towards franchise growth, evidenced by the upcoming opening of their first franchise location in Olathe, planned for the second quarter of 2026. Even as Redler moves to a strategic advisory role, he will remain influential in Mokas' development, particularly as the brand seeks to enter key markets like Kansas City and Phoenix.
Redler expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments, stating, “When I joined the team, the brand already had a great culture, strong values, and reputation of local success, and just needed a foundation for growth. My goal was to put the right systems in place to get the brand ready to scale, and we've now achieved this mission.”
Taking over Redler's responsibilities is Jason Ingermanson, CEO and founder of JRI Hospitality, Mokas' parent company. Ingermanson has been particularly instrumental in the evolution of Mokas, transforming it from a small coffee shop into a full-fledged fast-casual dining experience. He began his journey in 2008 as a Freddy’s franchisee and has maintained an impressive growth trajectory, now operating more than 85 Freddy's locations across 15 states. As the new President of Mokas Coffee & Eatery, Ingermanson is tasked with overseeing operations and leading the brand’s further expansion into its milestone 20th year.
“Scott's leadership and decades of experience have been invaluable,” stated Ingermanson. “He helped us translate a strong local concept into a scalable national opportunity, and I'm excited to continue the momentum he helped create. With his continued support and a strong leadership team in place, we’re ready to expand while staying true to our roots.”
Established in 2005, Mokas Coffee & Eatery has built a reputable name for itself through high-quality offerings, such as in-house roasted coffee, smoothies, and an array of fresh breakfast and lunch items. Currently operated from four corporate locations across Salina, Colby, and Wichita, Kansas, the brand is actively reaching out to passionate entrepreneurs for franchise opportunities.
