Promoting Consumer Education: Annual Consumer Education Festival 2023

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan is committed to promoting consumer education, which has gained increasing importance in recent years. To advance this initiative, the ministry has organized an annual event called the Consumer Education Festival since 2010, bringing together various stakeholders to share insights and collaborate on effective consumer education strategies.

Purpose of the Festival

This year, the festival emphasizes practical consumer education methods, focusing on the implications of lowering the legal age of adulthood. The event serves as a platform for local public officials, NPO representatives, university members, and business stakeholders to discuss and develop consumer education initiatives that resonate with young people and their families.

The festival will specifically work towards fostering inclusive consumer education that connects all generations through initiatives driven by students. This year's theme in Nara is: "Seeking rich connections in inclusive consumer education, with university students leading a project to learn together."
