Immerse Yourself in the Ukiyo-e Exhibition FUKUOKA
Get ready for a unique cultural experience! The "Immersive Ukiyo-e Exhibition FUKUOKA" is set to take place from
June 28 to August 17, 2025, at the JR Kyushu Hall in JR Hakata City. This innovative exhibition promises to be a gateway into a world of classic Japanese woodblock prints, featuring over
300 works from renowned artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and others.
This exhibition has already drawn over
250,000 visitors in cities like Tokyo, Milan, and Nagoya. It offers an exciting fusion of tradition and technology, utilizing
3D CG animations and
projection mapping to create an immersive environment designed for both adults and children. Attendees can explore
nine themed areas that vividly present the enchanting world of Ukiyo-e.
Special Kimono Campaign
To enhance your experience, the exhibition has launched a special
Kimono Campaign. Visitors who arrive dressed in traditional Japanese attire—such as kimonos or yukatas—will receive a
discount on admission fees. This initiative not only promotes cultural appreciation but allows attendees to capture stunning photos against the backdrop of the exhibition's vibrant digital displays.
- - Discount Criteria: Guests wearing kimonos (including furisode, hakama, or yukata) will enjoy a 100 yen discount on their entry fee.
- - Campaign Period: The campaign will run from June 28, 2025, to August 17, 2025.
- - How to Avail: Purchase discounted admission tickets at the venue on the day of your visit. Note that this discount is exclusive to the individual wearing a kimono, and cannot be combined with other discounts.
Rental Kimono Option
For those eager to embrace tradition but without attire, the exhibition will offer a
kimono rental service for a limited time. This initiative lets visitors feel as if they have stepped directly into the Ukiyo-e masterpieces, providing an unforgettable experience that blends art with personal engagement. More details on the rental service will be announced soon in collaboration with the Mayuno Association.
