A Legacy of Flavor

The story of Wall's Hole dates back to 1953, when it first opened its doors in Tamura-cho, Chuoku, Tokyo under the name “Hole in the Wall.” Founder Takayasu Narimatsu, revered as the pioneer of Japanese-style spaghetti, was inspired by a meeting with Paul Bloom, the inaugural CIA chief in Tokyo. Narimatsu used feedback from customers to refine recipes, ultimately leading to a unique menu featuring over 200 varieties of spaghetti.

Notably, the Shibuya location opened in 1963 as the birthplace of Tarako Spaghetti. The restaurant remains committed to using high-quality ingredients and welcomes customer suggestions for new dishes. Over the years, patrons have not only enjoyed the menu but also collaborated on new creations, showcasing a community-driven development.

The Name's Inspiration

The restaurant's name is derived from Shakespeare’s play _A Midsummer Night's Dream_, symbolically representing a passage of communication through a wall. At Wall's Hole, there is a deep-seated desire to maintain an ongoing interaction with customers, ensuring they feel personally connected to the dining experience.

As the celebration approaches, the Wall's Hole team eagerly awaits to welcome guests and share in the excitement of delicious flavors and heartfelt gratitude. Join them on May 20th to partake in this cherished event!
