SAMI Engages as a Partner to Support Eastern European Engineers in Japan

SAMI Japan has recently made a significant announcement regarding its role as a partner at the Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB), a startup support hub managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The collaboration is aimed at developing an environment that maximizes the skills of Eastern European engineers within Japanese society. By joining forces with TIB, SAMI seeks to create a bridge between talented Eastern European tech professionals and Japanese companies, thereby accelerating industrial development and technological innovation in Japan.

SAMI is deeply committed to promoting international cooperation and understanding by leveraging technology. Its mission revolves around connecting Japanese corporations with Eastern European engineers to achieve sustainable growth while addressing various social issues. Meanwhile, TIB stands at the forefront of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's initiative to serve as a new startup support base. It operates under four key pillars: “Global,” “Growth,” “Collaboration,” and “Connect,” aiming to be a nexus of innovation worldwide.

This partnership signifies a fusion of SAMI's objective of bridging Japanese businesses with Eastern European engineers and TIB's mission as a global innovation hub. This synergy will facilitate a more robust framework for utilizing the technical prowess of Eastern European engineers in Japanese society.

Maximizing the Skills of Eastern European Engineers in Japan

The Eastern European region has produced world-class professionals in fields such as AI, software development, and data science. However, recent geopolitical developments, including the ongoing war, have accelerated the outflow of these talented engineers from their home countries. SAMI, alongside its subsidiary People Cloud, has committed to creating a conducive environment where Eastern European engineers can thrive in Japan. The initiative aims to enable Japanese companies to leverage the expertise of these skilled professionals effectively.

By collaborating with TIB, SAMI intends to demonstrate the viability of utilizing Eastern European engineers to various enterprises. This partnership aims to facilitate meaningful interactions between Japanese companies and Eastern European engineers, thereby enhancing the potential for technological innovation across Japan.

Upcoming Event: DEMO Day for Eastern European Engineers

As a kick-off undertaking for this partnership, TIB will host an event titled “Eastern European Engineer DEMO Day” on April 18, 2025. This event will showcase the outcome of a hackathon where Eastern European engineers and Japanese companies jointly share technological advancements and resources. Ten Eastern European engineers, aspiring to relocate to Japan, will arrive and live together in a traditional house in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, while implementing prototypes.

During the event, these engineers will showcase their skills and provide opportunities for in-depth interactions with Japanese corporations. This platform aims to enable hiring managers and technical heads from Japanese companies to engage with the engineers directly, thereby exploring potential hiring or project collaboration opportunities.
