Vibrant Sanya Hosts the 2025 International Beach Ultimate Elite Invitational

The 2025 International Beach Ultimate Elite Invitational took place from July 11 to 13 at the stunning Dadonghai Beach in Sanya, where the sun and sea provided an ideal backdrop for this athletic and cultural event. Held under the lush palms and accompanied by gentle ocean breezes, the event culminated in a vibrant celebration of sports and community, underscoring Sanya’s ambition to blend its rich cultural tourism offerings with premier sporting events.

This competition, a hallmark of China's 2025 Lifestyle Sports Consumer Season, was organized by the Hainan Flying Disc Association and received support from several prominent local government bodies and organizations. The tournament drew participation from 20 teams across ten nations, featuring over 350 athletes who showcased their skills and teamwork on the sand.

With a motto of 'the disc never lands, we never give up,' players demonstrated impressive throws, layouts, and strategic plays that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In a thrilling conclusion, the Boracay Dragons from the Philippines claimed victory, continuing their legacy in the sport, with Singapore’s Turtle Inn and Peacocks clinching second and third places, respectively.

Wang Ruoyang, the President of the Hainan Flying Disc Association, highlighted the goal of the event during the closing ceremony, reflecting on its significance: “This event perfectly showcases the global reach of Beach Ultimate and our commitment to providing world-class experiences. We effectively combined elite sports with local festivities and cultural activities, providing both athletes and fans a memorable taste of Sanya’s energy and charm.”

Expanding Horizons and Inclusivity in the Sport

The invitational saw an increase in participation from 16 to 20 teams this year, which included competitors from China, Malaysia, Japan, Canada, and beyond. This growth illustrates the rising popularity and appeal of the event among international Beach Ultimate players. To accommodate the larger group, additional divisions were introduced, ensuring every team had the opportunity to vie for podium finishes in their respective tiers, thus enhancing the competitive landscape.

Spectators were equally delighted with Sanya's exquisite beaches. Karen Cabrera, manager of the Boracay Dragons, praised the organization of the event: “The sand is perfect, the sun is shining, and the atmosphere is more vibrant than ever. We're already looking forward to returning!”
