LabConnect Expands Global Laboratory Reach with New Wuxi Facility
LabConnect, a leading provider of technology-driven central laboratory services, proudly announces the grand opening of its latest facility in Wuxi, China. This new site enhances LabConnect's global infrastructure, enabling the company to better support the increasingly complex and international nature of clinical trials.
With the clinical trial landscape becoming more globalized, sponsors are increasingly in search of laboratory partners capable of delivering integrated testing, logistics, and data monitoring across various regions. The addition of the Wuxi facility complements LabConnect's current capabilities in Australia, allowing the company to bolster its support for multi-regional clinical studies. This strategic expansion will assist pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical research organizations in the Asia-Pacific region as they aim to scale up their research programs globally.
The Wuxi facility is seamlessly integrated into LabConnect's global infrastructure, which allows study teams to operate with a unified data exchange, consistent operational oversight, and advanced processes for sample logistics and handling. It was developed in collaboration with Teddy Laboratory, now under Frontage Laboratories, combining local expertise with LabConnect's global central lab services, logistics capabilities, and technology-enabled decentralized network model.
Wes Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer of LabConnect, emphasized the importance of this facility, stating, "This site reflects LabConnect's ongoing investment in building global services that are essential for today’s clinical studies and the next generation of clinical research. We are proud to offer locally-based expertise in China along with a global service network that supports both multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies entering the Chinese market and Chinese firms expanding into international markets."
At the new Wuxi location, LabConnect will provide an array of clinical trial services, including the manufacture of customized kits, advanced sample tracking and logistics, as well as biorepository services, all designed to comply with international regulatory standards.
The grand opening ceremony, held today in the Xinwu district of Wuxi, included a ribbon-cutting event, guided laboratory tours, and presentations showcasing LabConnect's technology-oriented approach to central laboratory services. Various stakeholders attended the event, including representatives from LabConnect, Teddy Laboratory, government officials, and members of the regional clinical research community.
With the establishment of the Wuxi facility, LabConnect now operates eight sites worldwide, allowing sponsors and contract research organizations to rely on a single partner for central laboratory services regardless of the size and geographical complexity of their studies.
