Nikon Imaging Japan, a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, is proud to announce the upcoming photo exhibition titled "GIFU NIGHTTIME GLOW" featuring the works of the talented photographer Kobayashi Atsushi. Taking place at THE GALLERY in Nikon Plaza Tokyo and Osaka, this exhibition will run from July 1 to July 14, 2025, in Tokyo, and from July 24 to August 6, 2025, in Osaka.

About the Exhibition

The exhibition revolves around the theme of "photography and regional revitalization," an area that Kobayashi is passionate about. With roots in Gifu, he aims to highlight the nocturnal beauty that the region has to offer. While Gifu may not boast the flashy urban landscapes akin to metropolitan areas, it possesses numerous unique sights that are filled with history and tradition. This showcase is designed to illuminate Gifu’s hidden nighttime gems through the lens of the artist’s camera.

Artist's Comment

Kobayashi’s vision is clear: "Gifu does not have the typical dazzling nightlife found in bustling cities, but it holds an abundance of beautiful scenes exclusive to our rich culture and history. I invite everyone to experience the captivating charm of Gifu at night through my photographs."

About Kobayashi Atsushi

Born in 1982 in Gifu Prefecture, Kobayashi started his career as a freelance photographer in 2012 while working as an architect. His passion for landscape and family photography led him to establish his own company, Office K, in 2023, focusing on projects that utilize photography for local revitalization efforts. His standout work, "Moon and Gifu Castle," has garnered international acclaim, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the photography community.

Beyond still photography, Kobayashi has also excelled in organizing photo events and creating photo tours, all of which emphasize the beauty of lesser-known scenery. As a licensed first-class architect, his unique perspective blends both architectural insight and artistic expression.
