Delve into the World of Miso at Kikkoman's Upcoming Lecture

On September 12, 2026, Kikkoman's International Food Culture Research Center is set to host an engaging cultural lecture titled "Discover the Richness of Miso". This event will be held at Kikkoman's Tokyo headquarters in the KCC Hall, starting at 2:00 PM.

Offering a limited in-person attendance of only 28 guests, the event will also be livestreamed on YouTube, providing a broader audience the opportunity to learn about this essential Japanese ingredient.

The Importance of Miso

Miso, a staple seasoning in Japanese cuisine, has been a part of the diets of Japanese people since ancient times. Known for its rich nutritional benefits and as a fermented food, miso has established itself in households across the nation. The myriad flavors arising from different ingredients and production methods have inspired many home cooks to create their own miso variants. Recently, the market has seen a rise in convenient products, such as miso with dashi and liquid miso, making this culinary staple even more accessible.

During the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to taste various types of miso, exploring its diverse flavors and depth. This is a chance for both enthusiasts and newcomers alike to experience the fascinating world of miso.

Meet the Expert

The session will be conducted by Jun Yoshikawa, a distinguished professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture. With a robust academic background, including a doctoral degree in agricultural sciences, he has worked in research roles within private enterprises and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. He has been sharing his expertise on fermentation sciences as an associate professor since 2019 and will be transitioning into a full professorship in 2025.
