Smartee Hosts Inaugural GS Summit in Cologne
On November 27, Smartee Denti-Technology laid the groundwork for increased clinical engagement in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region by hosting its first dedicated GS clinical summit in Cologne. This significant event marks a pivotal moment for Smartee, which has been operating locally in Germany for over two years, as it is the company’s inaugural European event centered exclusively on mandibular repositioning technology, also known as GS.
The summit attracted a diverse group of orthodontists from Germany and surrounding countries, engaging them in a full day of discussions under the theme "Redefining Mandibular Repositioning in Adults with Aligner Therapy". The event featured a variety of key sessions and presentations:
- - Gang Shen, the Chief Scientist at Smartee GS Technology and leading orthodontist at Taikang Bybo Dental, delivered two comprehensive sessions focused on the biological mechanisms behind Mandibular Advancement Repositioning Technology (MART) and the clinical management protocols for the S8-SGTB system.
- - Matthias Peper, the TPAO Congress Chair, shared his clinical experiences with Smartee’s GS mandibular repositioning system, discussing case selection, workflow planning, and initial treatment outcomes.
- - Dr. Werner Schupp, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics, demonstrated how integrating individualized data on mandibular movement into digital planning can enhance functional predictability right from the start of treatment.
The summit culminated in Prof. Shen’s review of complex GS cases in adults, culminating with the awarding of the Smartee GS Course Certificate to participating clinicians.
TPAO Congress 2025: An Opportunity for Broader Dialogue
Following the summit, Smartee attended the 4th TPAO Congress from November 28-29, where it engaged with over 1,300 orthodontists and dental technicians. This congress is regarded as one of Europe's leading platforms for aligner-based treatment planning and interdisciplinary learning.
At the Smartee booth, attendees explored the complete portfolio of transparent aligners for children and adults. This included the company's five product series as well as a newly introduced Iron Man licensed packaging by Disney that caught the attention of many visitors.
Also contributing to the enriched scientific experience, Prof. Gang Shen delivered a keynote lecture titled "GS Mandibular Repositioning Therapy: Fundamental Mechanisms, Therapeutic Procedures, and Clinical Effectiveness". His talk elaborated on why GS therapy provides a predictable and biologically anchored solution for mandibular repositioning in adults, emphasizing its significance within the broader European orthodontic community.
A Commitment to Long-Term Presence in the European Market
The GS summit in Cologne, along with participation at TPAO, underscores Smartee’s ongoing commitment to the European orthodontic landscape. These events represent more than just market introductions; they signify the deepening of the company’s long-standing presence and the growing interest in GS-based functional orthodontics.
With continuous investment in digital innovation, physician training, and international academic exchange, Smartee is poised to further expand the clinical influence of GS technology across Europe and beyond. As the orthodontic field continues to evolve, this summit and congress signify a significant step towards enhanced collaborative efforts and advanced patient care.
