This all-inclusive resort is now offering special plans for guests wishing to participate in New Year’s visits to Ise Jingu Shrine.
Plan 1: New Year’s Shrine Visit with Shuttle and Bento Meal
On December 31st, guests can join us for a unique travel experience to Ise Jingu Shrine for a countdown to the New Year. This plan includes a sumptuous dinner bento, and the hotel provides a direct shuttle to the shrine, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the serene atmosphere of Ise Jingu. The sacred Uji Bridge leads to the shrine, a symbolic gateway from the ordinary world to the divine. Participants in this plan will participate in a unique A or B course:
- - Course A: Depart from the hotel at 6:00 PM on December 31st to experience the New Year’s countdown at the shrine, returning at approximately 3:30 AM on January 1st.
- - Course B: Guests staying from January 1st to 3rd can enjoy daily departures at 8:00 AM to participate in morning prayers at the shrine.
Pricing for both plans begins at ¥74,000 per couple for a one-night stay, inclusive of meals and taxes. This exclusive offering allows for a maximum of 40 participants.
Plan 2: Enjoy Ise Lobster in the Winter
From October 1, the ban on harvesting Ise lobster ends, and guests can take part in a special package that includes enjoying this local delicacy. Known for its striking appearance and exquisite taste, Ise lobster symbolizes strength and longevity, often associated with New Year’s blessings. This culinary delight is a must-try, especially for families gathering to wish for health and success for children in examinations in the coming year.
Guests can indulge in the luxurious all-inclusive plan, priced from ¥22,200 per person, featuring Ise lobster along with carefully curated breakfast and dinner options.
Experience Japanese New Year's Traditions
The Grand Mercure Ise Shima Resort & Spa will host unique events to delve into Japanese New Year traditions. Participants are invited to try their hand at calligraphy under the guidance of Hoshimi Taikou, the chief priest from a local Zen temple. All necessary materials are provided, ensuring anyone can take part in crafting their New Year’s resolutions on paper.
Additionally, guests can create handmade New Year's greeting cards using locally produced Ise Washi paper and colored brush pens, perfect for sending warm wishes to distant family and friends.
