Detroit Lions GM Brad Holmes to Headline Automate 2025

In an exciting announcement, the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has confirmed that Brad Holmes, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Detroit Lions, will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming Automate 2025 event. Scheduled for May 12-15 in Detroit, Michigan, this premier robotics and automation conference will feature Holmes in a compelling conversation alongside Dan Miller, the Fox 2 Detroit Sports Director and the voice of the Lions, at 9 a.m. on the opening day.

Brad Holmes has been pivotal in changing the very fabric of the NFL franchise since his arrival in January 2021. Under his leadership, alongside Head Coach Dan Campbell, the Lions have not only built a stronger team but also a winning culture that has brought them an impressive 11 consecutive victories as they enter a remarkable season.

Holmes and Miller plan to discuss how organizations can undergo significant transformations, providing insights and strategies that have contributed to the Lions' success. This dialogue will offer attendees valuable lessons on leadership, teamwork, and talent development based on Holmes’ experiences.

Jeff Burnstein, the President of A3, emphasized Holmes' vital role in transforming the Lions into one of the NFL's most thrilling franchises. Burnstein remarked, "Brad Holmes has played an instrumental role in turning the Detroit Lions into one of the most exciting and respected professional football teams in the NFL. His insights into navigating challenges will undoubtedly inspire attendees at Automate 2025."

Holmes is responsible for overseeing all football operations for the Lions, directly answering to Sheila Ford Hamp, the team’s principal owner and chair, and Rod Wood, the president and CEO. His collaborative vision, shared with Coach Campbell, focuses on revamping the roster with players characterized by grit, passion, and football intelligence. This emphasis on meticulous talent acquisition strategy has steadily enhanced the Lions' squad since 2021.

Before joining the Lions, Holmes spent 18 successful seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. He advanced to the role of Director of College Scouting in 2013, where he led the college recruitment efforts for several seasons. This extensive background in scouting and team building has shaped his approach with the Lions.

On the media side, Dan Miller has a rich history in journalism, having begun his career in the senior year of high school and joining Fox 2 Detroit in 1997. His vast experience will undoubtedly enrich the discussion with Holmes, bringing a unique perspective to the conversation.

In addition to the dialogue featuring Holmes and Miller, other prominent keynote speakers will be announced in the lead-up to the event. Automate 2025 will take place at Huntington Place in Detroit, featuring around 800 exhibitors across over 320,000 square feet of exhibit space. Attendees can gain free access to the show, which showcases cutting-edge advancements in robotics, artificial intelligence, and motion control, although registration is required for the conference segment.

Last year, Automate attracted over 40,000 registrants from within the U.S. and international attendees, showcasing its expansive reach within the industry. Those aged 12 and older are welcome to explore the innovations present at the show.
