Collaboration Between Laxus and World: Introducing the Ecological Clothing Collection Campaign

Laxus Technologies Partners with World for Sustainable Initiative

Laxus Technologies, renowned for its luxury brand bag sharing service, has teamed up with World Co., Ltd. to introduce the "EcoRomo Campaign" — a company-wide clothing collection initiative aimed at promoting sustainability. This collaboration aligns with both company's values of creating a non-disposable society through innovative recycling and reuse practices.

What is the EcoRomo Campaign?

The term "EcoRomo" is a unique fusion of "ecology" and "garment" (in Japanese). Since its inception in the autumn of 2009, World Co., Ltd. has actively sought to provide a way to repurpose unused clothing by collaborating with recycling partners. This effort is rooted in the belief that anymore-valuable clothing should reach someone in need rather than end up as waste.

To date, the campaign has successfully collected over 20.65 million clothing items, with the proceeds being donated to various organizations supporting children's futures, including:
  • - Fukushima Children's Donation Fund (after the Great East Japan Earthquake)
  • - Miyagi Children's Charity Fund (after the Great East Japan Earthquake)
  • - Ashinaga Scholarship Foundation
  • - Child Cancer Support Fund
  • - Japanese Red Cross Society
  • - Japanese UNICEF Association, among others.

Sustainable Actions at Headquarters

Aligned with the EcoRomo Campaign’s principles, Laxus has established dedicated "EcoRomo Clothing Collection Boxes" at its Hiroshima headquarters. Employees are encouraged to donate their gently used clothing, allowing them to participate in this sustainable practice conveniently while at work. This internal initiative has successfully fostered not just the action of donating, but a broader awareness of the value of resources and the importance of recycling.

The presence of the collection boxes has led to a robust response from employees who resonate with the idea of passing along clothes that can still be worn, nurturing a culture of sustainability within the workplace. It’s a wonderful opportunity for employees to solidify their commitment to the environment while contributing to a larger cause.

As they donate, employees are reminded of the value of items they might typically discard, establishing a mindset focused on sustainability. The collection has seen a variety of clothing types, primarily focused on everyday wear, creating a solid foundation for a recycling initiative that is gaining traction within the company culture.

Building a Non-Disposable Society Together

The partnership between Laxus and World reinforces both companies' commitment to a sustainable future. By promoting the long-lasting use of items and ensuring that valuable clothing finds its way to individuals who can benefit, the collaboration serves as a testament to their shared vision.

Laxus, which has maintained a zero-waste use of bags since its founding, enhances its efforts towards this goal through the EcoRomo Campaign. The collaboration lays a framework for initiatives that reflect community responsibility, encouraging the idea of a circular economy.

Future Directions

Looking forward, Laxus remains dedicated to ensuring that every employee feels a part of this sustainability journey. The company seeks to deepen the impact of its internal programs and continue supporting efforts toward establishing a circular-based society.

Both Laxus and World envision a future where recycling and reuse become the norm, fostering a society that values community and environmental stewardship. Their combined efforts underscore the essential link between corporate responsibility and the health of our planet, inspiring others to join the movement for change.
