NOK Marks 85 Years with a Complete Work Uniform Refresh for Employees

NOK’s Work Uniform Refresh: Celebrating 85 Years

In July 2026, NOK Corporation, based in Minato, Tokyo, will celebrate its 85th anniversary. In honor of this significant milestone, the company is revamping its work uniforms for the first time in nearly 40 years. Under the supervision of creative director, Kasagawa Sato from SAMURAI, a new unified design reflecting the company's corporate identity (CI) will be introduced. The new uniforms will begin to be worn in domestic workplaces starting in October of this year.

This update aims to enhance employee safety and comfort while fostering a sense of unity within the company. The new work uniforms will feature a solid navy color, which is the corporate color, and will include a range of items such as jackets, pants, polo shirts, caps, and coveralls.

The NOK Group has consistently emphasized high-quality, stable mass production based on foundational research to support essential core manufacturing that is vital to society. The company’s technologies and products significantly contribute to various industries, including automotive, ensuring safety and comfort, which are the cornerstones of a prosperous society.

As part of the uniform refresh, NOK aims to create workwear that allows employees to perform their tasks safely and comfortably. Three main priorities were set during the development of the new uniforms: to protect the wearer's safety, to maintain product quality, and to enhance functionality and comfort. Over 4,300 responses were collected nationwide via surveys, along with face-to-face hearings involving 170 individuals, to ensure employee feedback shaped the new designs. Additionally, fitting sessions were conducted at all domestic production sites, with thorough verifications from the safety quality department, to finalize the optimal items and specifications.

Features of the New Uniform

1. CI-Based Simple and Smart Design: Supervised by Kasagawa Sato, the new uniform aims to optimize safety and convenience during work. The design is simple and smart, transcending trends and catering to all genders and ages.
2. Specifications for Diverse Work Environments: To adapt to the increasingly diverse labor environments, the specifications of the parts have been meticulously determined, and the product line has been expanded.
3. Outstanding Mobility and Comfort: The uniforms utilize sports patterns for 3D cutting, incorporating lightweight, stretchable, quick-drying, and breathable materials. Designed to withstand varying temperatures, they prioritize ease of movement and comfort at work.
