The 17th edition of Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA MADRID alongside FEPEX, has left its mark in the agricultural sector with a historic record of participation. The event, held in Madrid, welcomed
121,137 professionals from 152 countries, marking a
3% increase in attendance and a
5% rise in international representation compared to its previous edition.
Attendance Breakdown
Among the total visitors,
49% were international, showcasing a significant increase in global participation. Spain led the numbers, with key regions such as Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia, and Catalonia standing out. Additionally, professionals from diverse countries including Italy, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and South Africa added to the event's international flavor.
Exhibition Highlights
The exhibition demonstrated impressive growth with
2,485 exhibiting companies from 64 nations occupying a grand total of
78,212 square meters. This represented an
11% increase in area and a
13% rise in exhibitors since the 2024 event. The diversity and depth of offerings underline Fruit Attraction's role as an essential platform for industry professionals.
International Buyer Program
One of the standout features of Fruit Attraction is its
International Buyer Program, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, ICEX, and FEPEX. The program attracted 600 major buyers, procurement heads, importers, and wholesalers from
58 countries. The
Guest Importing Countries this year were Malaysia and Mexico, enriching the networking possibilities for attendees.
Technical Conferences and Trends
Fruit Attraction also hosted a robust
program of technical sessions and conferences, alongside the initiative
Chef Factory by #AlimentosdeEspaña. This aspect attracted over
3,200 participants to 95 sessions addressing pivotal trends in innovation, sustainability, logistics, and horticultural technology. Notably, tomatoes were crowned the
Star Product for their nutritional, gastronomical, and cultural significance, representing Spain's commitments to sustainable agricultural practices.
Sectoral Meetings
The event served as a venue for various sectoral meetings, including the
Joint Committee for Fruits and Vegetables from France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Representatives from producer and marketing associations discussed insights from the year and future proposals, focusing on crops such as tomatoes, strawberries, garlic, peaches, and more.
Innovation Hub Awards
As part of its commitment to innovation, the
Innovation Hub Awards recognized the most notable products and services in the industry from
50 entries and 9 finalists. The
Fresh Produce Award went to IRTA – Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentàries, while Edencore won in the
FV Industry category. Recognitions for sustainability and commitment went to Pallet Sure.
Exhibitor Awards
In collaboration with WAH, Fruit Attraction 2025 awarded prizes for the
Best Stand to exhibitors exhibiting excellence in innovation, design, sustainability, and originality. Winners included BayWa Global Produce for Sustainability, Fontestad for Best Design, and BCC – Grupo Cajamar for Originality. The
Public Favourite category, which received over
6,000 votes, celebrated Moguer Cuna de Platero, Veganic, Ontime Corporate Union, and Hispatec Agrointeligencia, highlighting the popularity of these exhibitors.
Economic Impact
Fruit Attraction's impact on Madrid's economy is considerable, generating an estimated
€407 million and resulting in the retention of
3,066 jobs. This underscores the event’s importance and reinforces the role of both Fruit Attraction and IFEMA MADRID as key economic and social engines in the region.
