Lathrop GPM Elevates Ben Struby to Lead Kansas City Office Amid Growth

Lathrop GPM Partners with New Leader

Lathrop GPM LLP, a prominent full-service law firm, proudly announces the appointment of Ben Struby as the Partner in Charge of its Kansas City office. This significant transition follows the leadership of Jean Paul Bradshaw, who has significantly contributed to the firm over the past eight years, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent move to a new office location.

Ben Struby is not new to the firm; he has been an integral part of Lathrop GPM for the last seven years. His expertise lies in areas such as bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights, making him well-suited for this leadership role. Struby has demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities, participating in various recruiting initiatives and serving on the firm’s Professional Development Committee. His commitment to community service is evident through his active involvement in several nonprofit boards and completion of the prestigious Centurions leadership program organized by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in 2024.

Reflecting on the transition, Struby expressed gratitude for Bradshaw’s exceptional leadership, stating, "Jean Paul has been an exceptional leader and the friendly face of our Kansas City office, guiding us through key events and milestones. He has created a strong foundation with a cohesive and dynamic office culture. I look forward to building on that foundation and enabling our team to excel on behalf of our clients and the community."

Bradshaw, as he steps down, remains committed to the firm and its community, stating, "Serving as the firm's first Partner in Charge of the Kansas City office has been one of the highlights of my career. I have had the privilege of working with an exceptional team to grow this office and enhance its role in the community. I remain committed to the success of our firm and look forward to this exciting new chapter under Ben's leadership."

As Struby takes the reins, he emphasizes the importance of collaboration and talent attraction. His vision includes the development of the firm's new office space located at Stanton Road Capital's 2323 Grand Boulevard, which is expected to be operational by summer 2026. The new office design will feature a modern hybrid layout aimed at fostering collaboration among the team and enhancing service delivery to clients. This model includes both open seating arrangements and private workspaces—aligning with the contemporary setups of the firm’s other offices in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, and Denver.

The progression in Kansas City is not just about leadership; it signifies Lathrop GPM's strategic growth trajectory. The addition of new talent, like Terrence (Terry) Kilroy, who joins the Labor & Employment practice as Senior Counsel, alongside Struby’s new role, highlights the firm’s commitment to expanding its presence and enhancing its client services in the region.
