Hunter Launches Official Reuse Project with Retailor System to Promote Sustainability

Hunter Launches 'HUNTER REPURPOSE' via Retailor

Renowned for its iconic rain boots, Hunter Japan is taking a significant step towards sustainability by launching an official reuse program named 'HUNTER REPURPOSE'. This new initiative, supported by Free Standard Inc.'s innovative recommerce operating system Retailor, aims to facilitate the collection, assessment, and management of used Hunter products. The program is set to officially commence on May 29, 2025.

Overview of the HUNTER REPURPOSE Program

HUNTER REPURPOSE will not be limited to rubber boots. It encompasses a wider range of Hunter products including bags and apparel (with some exceptions). Customers with items that have been worn less will be able to send their products for collection via a complimentary delivery service. Each item will undergo a meticulous inspection and assessment process, ensuring that only products in good condition will be accepted for resale.

Once collected, these assessed items will receive maintenance from Hunter’s official services and be sold as precious one-of-a-kind pieces. Products will be available at Hunter's certified circular stores such as ReLIKE in Shibuya and Kichijoji, as well as through the official online store.

As a gesture of appreciation, customers who contribute resaleable products will receive a 20% discount coupon code, enhancing their future shopping experience at Hunter's directly-operated stores (excluding outlet stores) and the official online platform.

Emphasis on Sustainability

The 'REPURPOSE' initiative builds upon the brand's previous recycling programs, like the 'REBOOT' initiative focused on rubber boot collection and 'Revitalization' project, which offered customization options for cracked boots. These efforts collectively represent Hunter’s commitment to a sustainable future under the umbrella of HUNTER PROTECT.

By enabling the transition of Hunter products to new owners through the HUNTER REPURPOSE program, the brand aims to extend product life cycles and reduce environmental impact significantly, contributing to a circular economy.
