The 10th edition of the eagerly awaited
Manabunka in Kyoto Station Building is set to take place at the
Hotel Granvia Kyoto on
August 11, 2026. Hosted in collaboration with
West Japan Railway Company and
Kyoto Station Building Development Co., Ltd., this remarkable event aims to immerse participants in the rich tapestry of traditional Japanese crafts through engaging workshops.
The event will feature a total of
20 diverse experience booths, ensuring ample opportunities for participants of all expertise levels. Whatever your age, there's something for everyone, from fun, beginner-friendly workshops to more intricate craft experiences for seasoned creators. Highlights include the
Washi Paper Folding Fan Painting Experience, perfect for enjoying in summer, and the
Kyo-Yuzento Gold Dust Experience, showcasing the beauty of Kyoto's artistry. Additionally, four new businesses will be joining, adding fresh experiences such as
Kyo-Doru Painting inspired by Kyoto dialect's cute animal motifs and making
Kyo-Temple Prayer Bead Bracelets guided by skilled artisans.
Admission is free, with hands-on experiences starting at just
1,000 yen, and each session lasts around
20 minutes.
Attendees will also enjoy the
Kamishibai Corner and
Traditional Play Corner within the venue, offering families the chance to explore and embrace Japan’s rich cultural heritage during breaks between crafts.
