Bridging Local Startups and Policymaking for a Sustainable Future



The Local Startup Association, led by Junichi Saito, is poised to establish a dynamic partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) through their exclusive collaborative space, Betunana. A pivotal workshop scheduled for August 4, 2026, will convene stakeholders in the heart of governmental discourse at METI's annex building.

This workshop serves as a prelude to the ONE SUMMIT 2026 in Tokyo, set for November 11, 2026, and emphasizes the intersection of policy development and real-world challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. Participants will include government officials from METI and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, alongside startup leaders and industry practitioners from associated partner companies, engaging in focused discussions that aim to synthesize policy trends with actionable insights from the field.

The Need for Collaboration


In Japan, the agricultural and fisheries sectors along with rural urban areas face significant structural challenges such as a shortage of successors, aging populations, and resource constraints.
