Book Launch Event Celebrates Collective Efforts for Global Hope and Economic Growth

Lord Browne Hosts Book Launch at Courtauld Gallery

On June 24, 2025, an extraordinary event took place at the Courtauld Gallery in London, where Lord John Browne of Madingley, Chairman of the Courtauld Institute of Art and Cambridge University Chancellorship candidate, convened a gathering of global leaders for the launch of the book Hope for Life on Our Planet: Inspiration for Seven Generations. This important work aims to regenerate human hope and redefine economic growth models. The book is published by the Manhattan Book Group and marks the official introduction of the Origination Foundation, founded by Norwegian entrepreneur Dr. Osvald Bjelland.

The event showcased a diverse assembly of prominent figures from various fields, including Nobel Peace Prize laureates, CEOs, political leaders, and scientists, emphasizing the book's mission to foster intergenerational responsibility and collaborative stewardship of the planet. Each participant contributed unique insights on how humanity can work together to confront pressing global challenges.

Among the notable co-authors are renowned advocates such as Narges Mohammadi from Iran, Oleksandra Matviichuk from Ukraine, and former Costa Rican president Óscar Arias Sánchez. The book also features original essays from significant voices in conservation and exploration, such as Dame Jane Goodall and polar explorer Robert Swan, underscoring the collective effort of over sixty contributors.

Lord Browne remarked, This inspiring gathering brought together voices committed to long-term thinking, intergenerational responsibility, and the shared stewardship of our planet's future. This book is a powerful call to action—and a reminder of the duty we owe to generations yet to come. His remarks highlighted the essence of the event: collaboration among diverse sectors to create a shared vision for future sustainability.

Dr. Osvald Bjelland, the founder of the Origination Foundation, further emphasized the themes of cooperation and progress. He stated, The essence of Origination and real progress is human agency and cooperation, more important than ever before. The human family is vulnerable, but when we choose to work together, we are mighty. His vision for the Origination Foundation is to create a robust platform for dialogue across various sectors, facilitating the exploration of ideas presented in the book.

The Origination Foundation is focused on nurturing a community of 'originators' who are dedicated to investing in initiatives that will benefit the next seven generations globally. With bases of operation in Oslo, London, and New York, the Foundation also aims to establish Origination Studios® to ignite innovative projects and discussions related to the book’s findings across Europe, the USA, India, Türkiye, East Asia, and beyond.

A pivotal element of the book launch was its location amid iconic Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artworks, reflecting the intrinsic ties between art, culture, and the broader themes of regeneration and hope that the book seeks to address. The ambiance of the Courtauld Gallery served as an evocative backdrop for the discussions surrounding humanity's shared future.

Finally, Hope for Life on Our Planet: Inspiration for Seven Generations is now available for purchase on Amazon. The launch event signified a critical moment in the ongoing dialogue about our collective responsibility to protect the Earth and its resources for future generations. As Lord Browne aptly noted, This book could not be written by anyone alone but is an example of what we can achieve when we choose to collaborate.
