With over 2,000 attendees, including 150 startups and 60 international speakers, this year’s summit has proven to be the most significant gathering in the country's startup landscape to date.
Organized by Startup Moldova, the event unveiled exciting new partnerships with renowned organizations such as Unicorn Factory Lisbon, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, and SeedBlink. These collaborations are set to strengthen Moldova's ties with acceleration programs, angel investor networks, and European innovation opportunities. Notably, Moldovan startups generated over $60 million in revenue in 2025 alone, creating around 1,500 jobs and attracting $17 million in investments. Melniciuc noted, "Our theme this year, 'Born in Moldova. Built for the World,' encapsulates the ambition of our founders who design competitively global businesses from day one."
The strategic alliances forged during the summit are expected to enhance Moldova's connectivity in the startup realm. Through signed protocols, Unicorn Factory Lisbon and Startup Moldova aim to facilitate access for Moldovan startups to international acceleration programs and development opportunities within the EU marketplace. Similarly, the partnership between the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), Startup Moldova, and the Ukrainian Startup Fund is geared towards fostering international cooperation, improving access to funding, and ensuring integration within the European innovation landscape.

By enhancing capital access, expertise, and market opportunities, Sweden and the UK are enabling Moldovan founders to grow faster and build globally competitive ventures."
Moldova's broader business environment is also becoming increasingly attractive for technology firms and founders. The MITP has introduced a flat 7% tax rate for qualifying IT and digital activities. The country is advancing frameworks for digital nomadism and remote work, preparing a fund to broaden access to venture capital and equity funding, while also developing the Moldova HiTech Park as a future platform for deep tech, R&D, and advanced technology industries. Investments in contactless commerce, e-governance, and digital public infrastructure exemplified by the EVO government application are set to simplify public and business services.
The European Union delegation in Chișinău reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Moldova's innovation ecosystem and connecting it to European opportunities. Julien Schmitt, director of the EU4Innovation East program, commented, "The Startup Moldova Summit 2026 reflects the ongoing advancements in Moldova's entrepreneurial ecosystem. For the second consecutive year, the European Union is proud to support this platform, fostering connections among founders, investors, and international markets. As the number of startups in Moldova grows, the need for robust support structures and access to capital becomes increasingly evident."
