Ericsson and LotusFlare Forge Strategic Alliance with New Investment

Ericsson and LotusFlare's New Partnership

On December 3, 2025, Ericsson, a global leader in telecommunications solutions, disclosed the closure of a significant capital investment in LotusFlare, a company renowned for its cloud-native digital commerce and monetization platform tailored for communication service providers (CSPs). This investment not only strengthens Ericsson’s existing broad solutions tailored for CSPs but also aims to innovate and monetize network application programming interfaces (APIs) while boosting LotusFlare’s global functionalities and marketing capabilities.

Kickstart Ventures, the venture capital arm of Globe Telecom, participated in this investment round, signaling strong industry interest in LotusFlare’s offerings and future. The partnership hinges on both firms’ shared vision of hastening the development and commercialization of AI-based software solutions within the telecommunications domain, ultimately aspiring to cultivate a global ecosystem for network APIs.

Ericsson's minority stake in LotusFlare is anticipated to fortify the latter's DNO Cloud offering, which is designed to facilitate network abstraction and external exposure of networks, inclusive of consent management for network APIs. This collaboration is seen as a pivotal milestone for LotusFlare, gearing up for its next growth trajectory and expansion phase.

Innovative Product Lines Driving Business Success

LotusFlare stands out in the market owing to its two highly integrated product lines that propel revenue growth, operational efficiency, and scalable monetization for CSPs:
  • - LotusFlare Digital Network Operator® (DNO™) Cloud: This AI-based digital commerce and monetization platform provides valuable commercial outcomes for CSPs across consumer, enterprise, and wholesale sectors. Currently, DNO serves API marketplaces, converging brands, mobile and broadband services, as well as MVNE/O platforms for leading global operators.
  • - Nomad eSIM: An innovative connectivity solution that presents travelers with reliable, affordable data plans in over 200 international destinations.

Niklas Heuveldop, Senior Vice President and head of the Global Communications Platform business area at Ericsson, emphasized the excitement in forming this strategic alliance with LotusFlare. He highlighted that the melding of Ericsson's high-performing programmable networks with LotusFlare’s network abstraction capabilities, along with Aduna's global network API aggregation and Vonage’s network-driven enterprise solutions, is set to enhance CSPs' ability to unlock new network features while tapping into significant value-creation opportunities within the industry.

In response, Sam Gadodia, CEO and co-founder of LotusFlare, expressed enthusiasm over Ericsson's investment, noting that their long-standing mission to simplify technology and improve customer experience has achieved significant milestones through the DNO Cloud and Nomad eSIM businesses. The investment marks strong validation of their product innovation and market impact, paving the way for new market opportunities and accelerating the development of critical network asset monetization capabilities for CSPs globally.

Enhancing the Global Footprint

Dan Siazon, Managing Partner and co-founder of Kickstart Ventures, reaffirmed confidence in LotusFlare’s ability to deliver top-tier products that positively impact mobile operators, emphasizing that the firm’s strategic relevance continues to grow. This investment round, led by Ericsson, not only amplifies the attractiveness of the opportunity but also positions LotusFlare for an optimistic future.

Both companies are poised to explore opportunities in network asset monetization and API exposure. With the backing of Ericsson, LotusFlare aims to enhance its global presence, expedite the development of AI-aligned solutions that minimize costs while simplifying complexities, and supply industry-leading platforms for communication service providers.
