MIMARU Expands to Osaka With New Family-Friendly Apartment Hotels

MIMARU Expands to Osaka

MIMARU, known for its spacious apartment accommodations tailored for families, is embarking on a significant expansion into Osaka. With the growing trend of family travel in Japan, the brand is set to launch two new properties that will cater specifically to families seeking comfortable and spacious lodging options. Bookings for these new locations have officially opened, and both hotels are anticipated to welcome guests in the autumn of 2026.

New Locations

The two new properties, MIMARU Osaka Shinsaibashi Central and MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex, are strategically located in bustling areas known for shopping and dining. The opening dates are set for September 1 and October 1, 2026, respectively. These establishments have been designed with families and larger groups in mind, featuring accommodations for four to six guests in a single suite, fostering comfort and convenience.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), international travel to Japan has been surging, hitting record highs with over 42 million visitors in 2025 alone. More families are choosing Japan as their travel destination, which has led to a greater demand for hotels that can accommodate multiple guests.

Culturally Welcoming Atmosphere

Osaka is renowned for its warm hospitality, making it an ideal location for MIMARU's expansion. The city combines a vibrant culture with a rich culinary scene that attracts numerous visitors. With the Kansai International Airport functioning as a major international hub and the global spotlight on the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo, the city is poised for further growth as a key base for international travelers exploring western Japan.

Mao Mochizuki, an international public relations representative for MIMARU, emphasized the brand’s welcoming spirit. He articulated how despite perceptions of Japanese society being reserved, MIMARU thrives in offering a warm welcome to diverse international guests. The team comprises staff from 39 different nationalities, allowing MIMARU to cultivate an environment where visitors can feel comfortable immersing themselves in both local culture and community interactions.

Features of the New Properties

The MIMARU Osaka Shinsaibashi Central is just a two-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station and will offer 66 well-appointed rooms designed for family groups. This prime location will provide guests with easy access to one of the city's most lively districts. On the other hand, the MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex, located five minutes from Namba Station, will introduce 68 spacious units, ideally suited for larger families or lengthy stays—a necessity given the increase in family trips.

Both locations adhere to MIMARU's signature approach of providing generous room sizes and thoughtful amenities tailored for family and group stays.

As international travel to Japan looks to continue its upward trend, MIMARU’s expansion in Osaka represents a judicious move to cater to the increasing demand for family-friendly accommodations in the heart of one of Japan’s premier tourist destinations. As these new properties prepare to open, they promise to enhance the travel experience for families looking to explore all that Japan has to offer.
