An Immersive Journey into the Infinite Void
From June 20 to July 21, 2026, art lovers are invited to experience Daisuke Tajima's remarkable solo exhibition entitled 'Infinite Void' at the innovative space, Gallery & Bakery Tokyo 8 minutes, located in the heart of Kyobashi. This exhibition challenges attendees to confront the blurred lines between chaos and void in our rapidly accelerating modern society, depicted through intricate details and striking perspectives.
Daisuke Tajima, a gifted artist born in Nara Prefecture, utilizes exaggerated perspectives and meticulous detail to create massive depictions of imaginary cities. His work draws inspiration from classic American science fiction films, Japanese anime and manga, as well as his travels across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China. Through his art, Tajima articulates the overwhelming energy and chaos of information-rich environments, while also addressing the underlying feelings of loneliness and emptiness that can ensue.
Under the backdrop of a world rife with information overflow, Tajima's pieces explore themes of identity and existence within a societal framework where uniformity prevails. His artworks serve as reflections on how we navigate through a reality where experiences and products come and go at a dizzying pace. The dense energy woven into his paintings embodies the struggle between solitude and contentment, inviting the viewer to engage deeply and reflectively with what they see.
The exhibition will showcase a mix of new and past works, including notable pieces such as 'Lonesome Scenery II' and 'Entering The New World.' Attendees can connect with the rich narratives behind each piece that communicates the feelings of breathlessness and stimulation in a fast-paced society, and how these elements contribute to a sense of void.
