Major Healthcare System in Southeast US Implements Sectra's Cloud Services
In a significant move towards enhancing patient care, a large healthcare system in the Southeastern United States has recently partnered with Sectra, an international medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company. The collaboration will see the deployment of Sectra's enterprise imaging solution, known as Sectra One Cloud, across eleven different sites. This initiative is aimed at bolstering the reliability of patient care delivery and setting a new standard in healthcare technology.
Sectra's cloud service utilizes state-of-the-art technology to ensure high reliability and scalability. This transition is poised to greatly enhance the speed of diagnostics while facilitating improved collaboration between the healthcare system's radiology and breast imaging departments. Such advancements are crucial, particularly in regions where natural disasters pose a significant threat to data preservation and system uptime.
Isaac Zaworski, President of Sectra Inc., remarked on the rising trend among healthcare providers toward system consolidation aimed at efficiency improvements, simplification processes, and fostering better collaboration among various departments. He highlighted that safeguarding patient data has become a critical priority, underscoring the essential nature of their partnership. By migrating to a cloud-based service built on Sectra's renowned enterprise imaging solution, the healthcare system is effectively addressing these contemporary challenges.
The Sectra One Cloud service is fully managed, meaning Sectra takes responsibility for monitoring and optimizing the solution while continuously upgrading it as needed. This eases the burden on the healthcare system's IT teams, allowing them to focus resources elsewhere while ensuring that the latest technology is always in use. Furthermore, as patient volumes are expected to increase, the cloud service can be effortlessly scaled to meet these growing demands and even expand into other imaging specialties.
The formal agreement was reached in the second quarter of Sectra's 2025/2026 fiscal year, with the healthcare system set to first implement modules specifically for radiology and breast imaging. The initial order value is reported to be USD 45.6 million, with a guaranteed amount of USD 44.1 million.
Sectra, with over three decades of innovation and more than 2,500 installations across the globe handling upwards of 152 million imaging exams annually, stands as a leader in imaging IT services for health systems worldwide. The company offers a complete enterprise solution, which includes a variety of imaging modules for radiology, cardiology, pathology, orthopedics, genomics, and ophthalmology, complemented by a robust vendor-neutral archive (VNA).
Notably, Sectra has received accolades for the past twelve consecutive years as the Best in KLAS, reflecting its unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction within the healthcare sector. The strides made in this partnership are not just seen as a technological upgrade, but as a pivotal step towards more comprehensive and efficient patient care.
As the integration of Sectra's cloud service progresses, stakeholders within the affected healthcare system are anticipating improvements in patient outcomes and operational efficiency, marking a new era in healthcare delivery.
